In 2024, Bravo announced that Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Miami was currently filming and would be released in 2025. The series focuses on the colorful lives of the Housewives living in Miami as they juggle business, family, and friendship in South Florida. And while the city is a standout in the Real Housewives franchise, there was a time when it was placed on pause by the network. In fact, it took eight years for the series to be rebooted by Peacock.
With an interesting cast, niche drama, and a gorgeous backdrop, it’s hard to believe that the series was ever placed on pause to begin with, especially after a handful of entertaining and theatrical couple of seasons. With Season 7 on the forecast, it’s hard to remember why or how RHOM was once on the Bravo cutting block.
As of this article’s publication, there is no release date as of yet for Season 7 of RHOM.
The Real Housewives Of Miami Was Paused Because Of Ratings
After three chaotic seasons showing the drama and friendship among Adriana de Moura, Larsa Pippem Cristy Rice, Alexia Nepola, Lea Black, and Marysol Patton, Bravo placed The Real Housewives of Miami on pause in 2013.
According to The List, Andy shed some light on the network’s realistic decision to cut ties with the series. “The reason that we let it go was, I remember the ratings went down toward the end of the season, which never happens,” he shared.
Like, [ratings] went down for the reunion, and if it’s going down toward the end that’s just never a good sign.
The executive producer continued, “But anyway, I hear your love all the time and really appreciate the show and the women.”

Another large reason for the show’s interruption was because one of the series’ most beloved cast members, Mama Elsa (Marysol Patton’s mother), became ill. With Marysol caring for her mother and the show losing that strong presence, it was best to place the series on hold until a new direction was in the works.
The Real Housewives franchise has such strong cities in the realm that many were unsure if Bravo needed to revive RHOM when the network could just start a new series or leave the roster as is. However, after eight long years, fans of Miami were thrilled by a positive update.
The Real Housewives Of Miami Has Never Been Better After The Reboot
During a 2020 podcast interview with Danny Pellegrino (via Vulture), Andy Cohen told the podcast host that he was working on rebooting The Real Housewives of Miami, but there was a twist. Instead of the series airing on Bravo, it would be exclusive to Peacock. Both owned by NBCUniversal, the shift in production was a great way of bringing back the series while also testing the waters to see if the series had an audience (while also bringing new subscribers to Peacock).
A year later, People reported that Season 4 of RHOM was coming out of retirement and on to Peacock screens. The fourth season brought back some series’ favorites and new faces:
- Adriana de Moura (original Housewife)
- Alexia Nepola (original Housewife)
- Larsa Pippen (original Housewife)
- Lisa Hochstein
- Marysol Patton (original Housewife)
- Guerdy Abraira
- Nicole Martin
- Julia Lemigova
The series is currently about to release Season 7 to an eager audience, after Season 6 had a season high of 462,000 viewers, as reported by TV Deets.
Since the reboot, RHOM has seen incredible storylines around marriages, divorces, and friendships. One of the biggest storylines that continues to play out in front of cameras is the divorce between Lisa and Lenny Hochstein.
Season 4 showed fans what they’d been missing for eight years when Lisa and Lenny’s marriage was shakier than ever. By Season 5, Lisa goes through a shocking separation in front of the cameras after her husband admitted to being in love with a mutual acquaintance. Likewise, Alexia Nepola grieved the loss of her ex-husband, Herman Echevarria, after finding out he had cheated on her throughout their marriage with men.
The series also detailed Larsa Pippen’s divorce from NBA legend Scottie Pippen, and how she was making it on her own in Miami now that her kids split their time between Miami and Los Angeles. Things became hazy when she dated Scottie’s former teammate’s son — Marcus Jordan (Michael Jordan’s son).
The addition of Guerdy Abraira, Nicole Martin, and Julia Lemigova was an excellent decision by casting, considering how powerful and fulfilled the women were in their own careers without needing help from their partners.
Season 7: Coming Soon
Not much has been revealed about Season 7. However, Parade reported that production filmed the season over the summer of 2024. Hopefully this means eager fans won’t have to wait much longer to tune into new episodes. The entire cast from Season 6 (minus Nicole) is returning, confirming that the chosen cast was a homerun by production. Unlike previous seasons, Season 7 will air on Bravo and appear on Peacock the following day.
Season 7 of RHOM is theorized to hit screens in 2025. Stream all former seasons on Peacock now.
