Since several Survivor and Big Brother legends have competed on The Traitors, fans of all three reality shows have seen some amazing things. For example, after becoming one of the most talked-about Traitors ever, Danielle Reyes spoke about Season 3’s controversial first “murder.” Even though Survivor players have done better than Big Brother legends during The Traitors, “Boston” Rob Mariano broke the Traitors, betrayed Bob the Drag Queen, and angered Tony Vlachos.
After Survivor legends flopped during The Traitors Season 3, one former winner from Jeff Probst’s show could suffer the same fate during Season 4. During an interview from the past, Survivor’s Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho explained that he has a weakness that could doom him during The Traitors.
Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho’s The Traitors Season 4 Game Could Be Ruined By His Claim About His Huge Personality
In some ways, it almost feels like The Traitors is a game that was designed with Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho in mind. After all, there are many aspects of The Traitors that play perfectly to Yam Yam’s skills.
As any The Traitors fan knows, the show requires players to build strong bonds and Yam Yam proved he could do that during Survivor 44. On top of that, The Traitors players need to be able to put those bonds aside to further their strategic game and Yam Yam certainly did that during Survivor 44 as well.
However, there is one aspect of what it takes to win The Traitors that seems like it could be a major problem for Yam Yam. Based on comments he made in the past, Yam Yam’s huge personality could ruin his chances to win The Traitors Season 4.
On February 3rd, 2023, Survivor’s X account posted an introductory video about Yam Yam for the show’s fans to watch.

That video featured Yam Yam making remarks to the camera about who he is and his feelings about Survivor. At one point in the video, Yam Yam stated that his big personality makes it so people always pay attention to him.
“Being Yam Yam, it’s impossible to fly under the radar. I don’t shut up.”
With that remark in mind, Yam Yam could find himself in serious trouble during The Traitors Season 4.
Now that three seasons of The Traitors have aired, the show’s fans have noticed many things about it. For example, looking at the people who won the first three seasons of The Traitors draws a picture about what kind of player is likely to prevail.
The Traitors Season 1 was won by Cirie Fields by herself. The Traitors Season 2 had a pair of winners who prevailed together, Trishelle Cannatella and Chris “CT” Tamburello. Then, four players won The Traitors Season 3 together, Dylan Efron, Gabby Windey, Dolores Catania, and Lord var Mountbatten.
While the past winners of The Traitors had different attributes and personalities, there is one thing they had in common. All the winners from The Traitors’ past have been able to fly under the radar, which helped them to make it to the end.
Given that past The Traitors winners often played away from the spotlight, that obviously is bad news for Yam Yam.
In January 2023, Entertainment Weekly published the bios for the cast of Survivor 44. While being interviewed for his bio, Yam Yam yet again described how big his personality was when he was asked to use three words to describe himself. “Passionate, a little bit loud, open.”
However, looking at the history of The Traitors reveals even more problematic news for Yam Yam.
Throughout The Traitors’ history, there have been several players who’ve had big personalities too. Unfortunately for Yam Yam, those loud players have often been eliminated from the game extremely early on.
The most obvious example of a The Traitors player who had a larger-than-life personality is Bob the Drag Queen. An extremely likeable person, Bob the Drag Queen took a central role during the first several episodes of The Traitors Season 3. Then, Bob the Drag Queen’s big personality put him in the crosshairs of “Boston” Rob Mariano, and he was swiftly “banished.”
Given that Yam Yam is someone with a self-professed big personality, it is very easy to imagine him suffering a similar fate during The Traitors Season 4.
After all, the history of The Traitors makes it very clear that players who grab everyone’s attention are unlikely to last long.
While The Traitors Fans Can Still Have Hopes For Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho
During Survivor 44, Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho got himself into some trouble. In fact, several players cast votes against Yam Yam, and he narrowly avoided having his torch snuffed. Despite that, Yam Yam went on to win Survivor 44, which is one of many reasons to think he still could win The Traitors Season 4.
As anyone who watched Survivor 44 should know, Yam Yam is one of the most lovable players in the history of the show. Blessed with a personality that radiates joy, Yam Yam comes across as such a great guy that he still could win even if he is in the spotlight.
During The Traitors Season 1, Cirie Fields mostly played the game under the radar. While it seems clear that helped her in the game, the real key to her winning the season was how much the other players loved her. Because Cirie was so lovable, nobody believed that she could be one of the Traitors or play against them.
Since Yam Yam has a similar quality as Cirie, it is entirely possible that his lovable nature could lead to nobody seeing him as a threat. In that circumstance, Yam Yam certainly could make it to the end and win the season despite his big personality.
It also is possible that Yam Yam’s inability to fly under the radar could become his key to winning the game if he is chosen to be one of the Traitors.
For the Faithfuls during The Traitors Season 4, it may seem inconceivable that a member of the Traitors would be so loud in the game. As a result, Yam Yam’s loud personality could be the key to the faithful overlooking how big of a threat he could be.
It is worth noting that this idea isn’t just based on conjecture either. During Survivor 44, Yam Yam pledged that he would take out the aforementioned players who voted against him, and he did just that. It seemed like Yam Yam’s loud and lovable personality resulted in those players failing to see him coming after them.
