The Valley Season 2 is nearing its end and what a wild ride it has been for this cast — especially Brittany Cartwright. In last week’s episode, Brittany met with a lawyer to officially begin the process of divorcing her husband of five years, Jax Taylor.
During the meeting, she laid out several troubling reasons for her decision, including accusations that Jax had been spying on her, continuing to send hurtful “rage texts,” and leaving her with a mortgage more than double its original amount after he reportedly stopped contributing to house payments.
In Episode 10 of the Bravo reality TV show, Jax returns home after completing 30 days in rehab and discovers his bar has been rebranded to “Britt’s.” Needless to say, he’s not thrilled. But with rehab supposedly giving him a new outlook on life, will he finally handle things in a more calming and respectful manner?
The Return Of Jax Taylor
Just 12 hours after Brittany Cartwright took over Jax’s Studio City, or should we say, “Britt’s,” Jesse Lally arrives at the inpatient facility to pick up Jax Taylor. After spending 30 days in rehab, Jax has come to the realization that his anger is the root of all of his problems.
Jax tells Jesse that for 7 hours a day he was “drilled with therapy,” but what about all those moments he still found time to “rage text” Brittany? While he details all his wrongs, he admits in a confessional that he could “slip” at any given moment. And, learning that his bar was renamed has really gotten under his skin — not exactly the best start for the so-called “new” Jax Taylor.
Jax and Jesse head to what is now Brittany’s house, where he finds all his things in garbage bags. He vents to Jesse, saying he’ll leave behind his expensive couch among other items, so their son Cruz can have them. But then he takes a jab, suggesting that Brittany should sell the house because, what woman needs a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house with a child? Is he serious?
Jax then reveals that he stopped paying house payments because of Brittany hooking up with his friend, Julian.
“I stopped paying when I found out about Julian. I stopped paying all of our bills. Like, ‘Great, I hope the house goes into foreclosure.'”
Jesse advises him that he needs to keep his cool, but he’s already showing signs of anger. And honestly, it’s striking how little consideration Jax seems to have for his son, like skipping out on his bills and leaving a financial mess for the mother of his child.
Michelle Saniei Discusses Her Future With Aaron Nosler
We get a deeper look into Michelle Saniei’s new life with her boyfriend, Aaron Nosler. She is already looking forward to marrying him and shares how much she loves his growing connection with her daughter. Unfortunately, Michelle is still having to deal with her estranged husband, Jesse’s retaliation tactics, learning that he won’t allow Isabella to see her grandmother, who Michelle shares, is “deteriorating” after her cancer diagnosis. However, in a later scene, Jesse tells the Booko’s that he would never not allow Isabella to see her grandmother. He just believes it’s right that he and Michelle teach their daughter about life and death.
The Guys Welcome Jax Back But Things Are Tense Between Jason Caperna And Danny Booko
The guys come together for dinner with Jax, but things quickly turn tense between Jason Caperna and Danny Booko. While at the bar last night, Jason accused Danny of becoming “Darkside Danny” and talking badly about his wife, Janet. Meanwhile, Jax’s business partner brings up the bar being taken over by Brittany and the friend group. This sets Jax off, who thinks it was a “slap in face” to take over his bar just a day after he comes out of rehab. But honestly, the way he’s acting certainly doesn’t sound like someone who spent a month rehabilitating their anger issues.

In a confessional, Jason doesn’t hold back, calling Danny “a dangerous person to be around” due to his drinking. He even suggests that Danny is the one who should be seeking professional help. Back at the table, Jax, of all people, chimes in, claiming that Danny “has an issue.” Jason, surprisingly, says he’s happy to have Jax back, seeing that he appears to have his back on this, but the whole scene feels messy and unsettling, with Danny defending himself with no one to have his back.
Zack Wickham Goes In On Jax
Zack Wickham has a surprise party welcoming his boyfriend, Benji Quach, back to the United States. Everyone is invited, but again, things are tense with just about everyone. Nia Booko talks to Janet alone about her husband, and the latter goes in on how Danny gets blackout drunk and makes women uncomfortable when he drinks. In a confessional, Janet shares, “He’s a different guy to be around, and it’s not fun.”
Jax later shows up to the party, and it’s very uncomfortable for Brittany. She hasn’t seen in since he entered rehab. In fact, we see that Jax gets a haircut and even Botox injections before seeing his son. Speaking to Kristen Doute, he even has the nerve to question her parenting while he’s the one away.
Zack ends up talking to Jax about his rehab stay, and honestly, it’s the highlight of the night. He throws some perfectly timed jabs, pointing out how Jax was busy “rage texting” Brittany and finding a way to get out of rehab to uncover her home cameras, while supposedly spending seven hours a day in therapy at his cushy “resort” facility. Zack continued to push Jax’s buttons, and it seemed to work with Jax leaving the party shortly after.
Jax Gets Served
As Jax moves his things out of Brittany’s house, he wants to see their son Cruz. However, he’s making things harder by not agreeing to her terms, like signing out of their camera system. Jason and Tom Schwartz tell Jax that he’s going about it the wrong way. If he wants to co-exist with his ex-wife, he needs to stop trying to retaliate. As Brittany returns home, she cries, knowing that things are really over this time around. However, she knows that now she can fully move on and that starts with removing anything in her home that reminds her of her ex.
We also find out that Jax has a burner Instagram account under the name Frank Dremon, which he uses to leave positive comments about himself. It’s equal parts hilarious and pathetic.
In happier news, Nia learns that she could have more children, and although Danny would rather they consider buying a bigger house first, he is excited to expand their family. Luke Broderick comes over and tells them about his plans to take Kristen to Maui to propose. But both Nia and Danny will make it seem like it’s their trip so that the surprise doesn’t get ruined.
The episode ends with Jax being served divorce papers in his new condo. Tom Schwartz, who so happens to be his neighbor, tries to lighten the mood by calling it a “love letter” of divorces, noting Brittany’s desire to settle their divorce outside of court. But the tone quickly changes when Jax learns his soon-to-be ex-wife wants “full legal custody” of Cruz.
To make matters worse, the news has already hit the tabloids, leaving Jax completely blindsided.
The Valley Season 2 airs new episodes on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
