There has been speculation about the cast of The Valley Season 3 due to the messy situation between its stars. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are going through a contentious divorce, and Jesse Lally and Michelle Lally are also going through a brutal split. Some changes needed to be made to prevent the show from becoming toxic, as the relationships between its cast members would have created filming challenges. But no one expected Jax to announce his exit from the show after Season 2.
Still, this is what happened when Jax made a statement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish on July 16, revealing that he would be exiting the show. But why did he choose to step away from reality TV, and what do fans think?
Jax Taylor Makes A Statement About His Exit
Jax shared his reasons for exiting The Valley after Season 2 in his statement: “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he shared. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”
Season 2 will not be the last time fans see Jax, as it has been confirmed that he will also appear on the reunion, which was filmed in May 2025. Jax has been on reality TV for a long time, first with Vanderpump Rules and later with the spinoff show, The Valley. However, his problems have also been captured on camera, and fans and costars have previously expressed concern for him.
“It’s night and day,” Jax told Deadline. “I watch a lot of reality TV [and] I don’t think I’ve ever seen a season like this in my life, especially for me — [this has been the] hardest year in my life. The last thing I want right now is for people to see what they’re about to see.” He continued, “You’re going to see me at my most vulnerable state. You’re going to see me at rock bottom. You’re going to see me hanging on by a thread. It was very, very tough for me. That first episode is bad. Episode 2 — [it’s] really bad, really bad.”
