The Valley's Jasmine Goode Accuses Nia of Using Past Homelessness to Deflect From Marriage Issues as Janet Accuses Her of Trying to Gain Sympathy and Brittany Shades Her "Rehearsed" Revelations

Jasmine Goode believes Nia Sanchez-Booko may have had ulterior motives when it came to opening up to The Valley cast about her troubled childhood.

Following Tuesday’s episode of the show, which featured Nia, 35, discussing her past homelessness after they accused her of hiding the inner workings of her marriage to Danny Booko, 41, as well as his drinking, from the group, Jasmine, 37, shared her thoughts on Nia’s timing as Janet Caperna, 34, suggested the discussion was premeditated and Brittany Cartwright, 36, agreed it felt “rehearsed.”

“I felt bad that she had to go there to open up to us, but at the same time, I felt like this is why you put on this facade that you’re so perfect sometimes,” Jasmine admitted on the May 20 episode of The Valley: After Show. “This is so sad to say this, but it made me feel, is she saying this to get off, like, ‘Hey guys, I’m gonna tell you that I was homeless so now you can’t get mad at me.’”

Looking back at their conversation in Santa Barbara, Janet said she was waiting for Nia’s revelations to “make sense.”

“I was like, maybe she’ll say, ‘Because of my past, I hide things. I understand I’m hiding things, but that’s how I’ve dealt with things.’ But she never really made the connection,” Janet shared. “It just kind of felt like, ‘You guys shouldn’t be doing anything to upset me because I’ve had a really rough childhood and upbringing.’ And to me, it did feel like trying to gain sympathy in that moment.”

According to Janet, Nia’s comments about her past led the group to steer clear of their criticisms of Danny.

“The frustrations that Brittany had, Jasmine had, I had in a smaller way … None of those could be expressed in that moment because how are we supposed to respond to someone who just told us they were homeless as a child?” she wondered as Scheana Shay, 40, suspected Nia was trying to “get attention on a different situation so [the group stopped] talking about Danny.”

“Do you think coming into that night, she knew she was going to tell you guys that story?” Scheana wondered.

“Yeah,” Janet confirmed.

Janet then shared that after Nia left, Jasmine had told her, “‘I’m not okay with this, and that was bullsh*t.’”

“It just showed me how silenced everybody felt in that situation,” she noted.

Meanwhile, Brittany said that while “it was great that Nia was opening up about personal stuff,” she felt she was not doing it with the sole purpose of allowing the cast to get to know her better.

“There was a little part of me that felt like it was rehearsed. It just kind of felt like, ‘I need to have an excuse ready for why I do these things.’ [But] I hope that’s not what it was,” she shared.

As for Nia, she looked back on her troubled past in her own segment, as she shot down judgment from the group.

“Why would l look at the negative side of things or judge someone else? I’m just grateful,” she declared. “I had a really unhealthy relationship that Daniel knows about that was abusive in many forms, but got physically abusive at the end. I don’t wish that on anyone. I’ve seen the ups and downs, I’ve seen the hard time, and I’m so grateful for an incredible husband that loves me and four beautiful, healthy children and a roof over our heads and stable income.”

The Valley season two airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
