Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans were once country music’s cutest couple. However, their marriage ended after nearly 5 years together in the summer of 2022, and Kelsea documented her divorce from the Australian country singer in her very emotional EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.
But, time heals all wounds and The Voice coach is now happily dating Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes. The pair’s relationship began around January 2023, after the actor soft launched their relationship on Instagram. Since then, they’ve supported one another’s careers and celebrated two years together.

January 2023: Chase Stokes Teases Fans With Photo Cuddling Kelsea Ballerini
Fans went into a frenzy when Chase Stokes shared the above photo cuddling with a mystery woman. Internet sleuths would then do some deep investigating to find that it was country songstress Kelsea Ballerini. Raising Cane founder Todd Graves posted a series of photos on Instagram at the same college football game, and in a group shot, Kelsea and Chase are seen smiling in the right-hand corner.

February 2023: Kelsea Reveals She Slid Into Chase’s DMs
During a guest appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kelsea admitted that after she and Chase followed one another on Instagram, she DMed the actor and the rest was history.
“I’ve never seen his show, but I just knew of him, and I just swan dove right on in.”
When host Alex Cooper asked what she had said to get his attention, she shared: “His handle is ‘@hichasestokes,’ and I said, ‘Hi, Chase Stokes.'”

April 2023: Kelsea And Chase Make Their First Red Carpet Appearance As A Couple
On April 2, 2023, Kelsea and Chase made their official red carpet appearance while attending the CMT Music Awards. Kelsea co-hosted the award show with country singer Kane Brown.
Prior to their first appearance, Chase had been a supportive boyfriend after going on tour with Kelsea in March for her Heartfirst Tour. That same month, he was backstage when she was a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

August 2023: Kelsea Shares A Video Of What She Wore On Her First Date With Chase
On her TikTok, Kelsea shared the video that she had sent a friend showing off her outfit for her first date with Chase. The country singer is seen wearing a black dress and cowboy boots and modeling her outfit in a mirror. Her song, “How Do I Do This” played in the background.
“OK, here’s the look with the boots,” she says. “We’ve got this hair clip, because we’re trying to be cool girl.”
She’s then seen giving herself a pep talk. “I can do this! I can do this! It’s just a date. You just go and you eat food and you talk about things that you do. OK.”

August 2023-November 2023: The Couple Attend Numerous Red Carpets
Between August and November 2023, Chase and Kelsea were certainly not shy to attend events together. They clearly solidified their relationship.
In August 2023, the two attended the Variety and the Golden Globes’ Venice Film Festival party. In a photo, Kelsea plants a kiss on Chase’s cheek. The following month, the couple arrived at the MTV VMAs in matching wardrobes. Kelsea wore a red gown with her back exposed, while Chase opted for a red suit jacket.
In November 2023, they went full-on glam as they walked the CMA Awards red carpet. Chase wore a black suit while Kelsea wore a pink Christian Siriano gown.

January 2024: The Couple Celebrate One Year Together
To mark their one-year of dating, Kelsea shared a carousel of images and videos of her and Chase together on Instagram. In one video, Chase is seen supporting Kelsea at one of her concerts, while another clip shows Kelsea poking fun at the actor snoring in bed.
She captioned the post: “a whole trip around the sun with my bestie. @hichasestokes thanks for making me write love songs. 🤍”
Chase shared his own carousel of images on Instagram to celebrate their one-year together that featured the two jamming out to Kelsea’s song, “Heartfirst” in the car and other goofy photos. He captioned his post, “One year of lovin you ❤️ p.s. told ya I wouldn’t embarrass you 🥰”

September 2024: Chase Admits That He And Kelsea Don’t Stay Apart For More Than Three Weeks
In an interview with People, Chase shared that he and Kelsea have a tough time staying away from one another for long periods of time. He told the outlet that they have a rule in play that states, “never going more than three weeks” without seeing one another. And their rules seem to be working.
“If we need to make the effort to show up when one’s across the country, we do it. The amount of effort that we put into our careers, we should be doubling that in our personal lives. It’s not always easy and it’s not always convenient, but having a big, beautiful life didn’t come from convenience or ease,” Chase said.

October 2024: Chase Is Featured In Kelsea’s Music Video For “First Rodeo”
Kelsea released her fifth album, Patterns, in October 2024, and her music video for the song “First Rodeo,” features Chase. In an Instagram post, the new The Voice coach shared some insight behind the meaning of her single.
“first rodeo is all about embracing fragility, hope, and getting back on the horse. the video is out now, featuring the handsome human who inspired the song and made me love sunsets again. 🥹🤍”
In her interview with Women’s Health, Kelsea revealed that the album showcases the “in-between moments” of falling in love.
“It’s not not a record full of love. It is, but it’s the nuance of it, and it’s the in-between moments. How do we get to the happy-go-lucky, mushy-gushy phase? This is the process, but it took a lot of sorting through baggage together. I think we’re both really proud of that,” she expressed.

October 2024: Chase Supports Kelsea After Selling Out Madison Square Garden
To celebrate the release of her new record, Patterns, Kelsea played a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was a huge milestone for the singer who had only played a sold-out show once in her entire career.
Kelsea shared photos of her concert in two separate Instagram posts. The second post’s first image showed Kelsea holding on to Chase and hugging him after her performance. She captioned the images: “you’ll never know how much i needed you 🤍”
In October 2024, Kelsea shared with People that she and Chase had moved in together. “Oh, we’re unpacked, baby!”

January 2025: Kelsea And Chase Celebrate Two Years Together
January marks the couple’s two-year anniversary and in an Instagram post, Kelsea shared a photo of the two lovingly looking at one another while the sunset in the background. She gave her post a simple caption:
“Grateful to be on this floating rock for another year.”
Chase also shared a carousel of images of himself and Kelsea to celebrate their dating anniversary on the social media platform. He captioned his photos, “2 laps around the sun with you, i love you kb 🤍(especially when you laugh so hard you wheeze, and 8 am dance routines to your toothbrush).”
