On the May 27th episode of The Valley Season 2, Kristen Doute opens up a can of worms when she drops a major allegation about Jason Caperna. During lunch with her fiancé, Luke Broderick and Jesse Lally, she claims that Jason takes off his wedding ring when he goes out.

The season thus far has been filled with rumors and allegations about this cast. Jesse had accused his former wife, Michelle Saniei, of being unfaithful during their marriage and even spread a rumor that she was sleeping with men for money. We also saw Jasmine Goode and Brittany Cartwright allege that Nia Booko is hiding her real marital problems with her husband, Danny.

Now, Jason and Janet are front and center with this new rumor, but will it hurt their marriage?

The Valley Season 2 Sees A Rumor About Jason Caperna Being Caught Without His Wedding Ring

The Allegation Was First Made By Jasmine Goode Who Later Spilled The Tea To Kristen Doute

In Episode 7 of The Valley, Jason and Janet’s marriage is called into question when Kristen Doute shares a rumor that Jason removes his wedding ring when he goes out in public without his wife. Later in the episode, at a party thrown by Brittany Cartwright, Jason confronts both Kristen and Luke Broderick over the rumor. He learns that Kristen had heard it from Jasmine Goode, which is hurtful given that he had just had her back given her situation with Danny Booko.

In The Valley After Show, the cast dug a little deeper into the rumor. We learn that Jasmine and her girlfriend, Melissa, heard this rumor three years ago at a party from friends that weren’t close to Jason anymore, “at the moment.” She added, “A lot of things were said — not just him taking off his ring.”

Apparently, the friends were allegedly “pissed off” when Jason missed an important birthday “because of his wife,” and “a lot of talking” about their marriage ensued. However, these same friends later denied saying anything about Jason taking his ring off, with Jasmine reiterating what Melissa told her, “They’re in a good place with him right now. They’re scared of Janet. They have said that multiple times. They don’t know what she can do. They’re like, ‘We don’t want to deal with it.'”

Zack Wickham later shared, “You don’t know if it’s true or not, but yeah, do we believe it? Probably not. But also, that’s a very specific thing to say about somebody.”

It seems likely that this is totally false, especially considering it reportedly came from former friends who may have been upset with Jason for not showing up where he was genuinely wanted.

Why Kristen Doute Brought Up The Rumor About Jason In The Most Recent Episode

Kristen Was Upset At Jason And Janet Caperna For Attacking Nia And Danny Booko’s Marriage

In the episode, we learn that Kristen brought up this allegation about Jason because she’s grown tired of how he and his wife are coming after Nia and Danny Booko’s marriage. “The only reason that I brought it up is because they are being so incredibly judgmental and mean to Danny and Nia. So that is where I get really pissed off,” Kristen shared.

That’s when she adds, “Jason’s in no space to be judging anyone’s relationship. Keep your wedding ring on all the time, and then you can start talking.”

During a trip to Santa Barbara, Danny is accused of allegedly hiding his issues with alcohol when Janet sees him taking a swig of tequila in the pantry. He slept through dinner one night, with Nia sharing that he was just tired from his long trip. However, at a girls’ dinner in Episode 6, Janet shared that he reminded her of someone she knew that dealt with alcohol issues, which was really uncalled-for and upset Nia.

Additionally, Jasmine was still upset over an incident during a Halloween party in which Danny inappropriately touched her and Melissa. He apologized for his actions, but while meeting up with Jason, the latter told him his apology wasn’t good enough, leading Danny to believe that Janet was using her husband as her “puppet.” In the After Show, Danny shares, “Yeah, I think Janet sent Jason to attack to keep the heat on me and I think that’s why he was so awkward while doing it. He was being a puppet.”

Zack also agreed with Danny, sharing that Jason’s actions were over-the-top when confronting him. “I think he’s going in ulterior motive and ulterior, like, mindset.”

Kristen later added that Janet was the one stirring the pot. “The things that I’ve seen out of Jason in the last two years have been Janet chirping in his ear because, trust me, love or hate Janet … he’s going to have her back as he should. However, the way he talks to people and handles situations now, is not like the Jason I’ve ever known.” Kristen adds that the Janet she knows is “gossipy and catty,” while Jason is the complete opposite.

We do see Danny later meeting up with Jasmine and Melissa to apologize again and get a deeper understanding of how his actions affected them. Interestingly, while in Santa Barbara, Jason mentioned in the hot tub that he had no issue with Danny passing out during dinner, which speaks volumes.

Kristen And Janet Get Into A Heated Altercation As Shown In The Mid-Season Trailer

Janet Is Ruffling Feathers Among The Cast

The start of Season 2 saw Kristen and Janet at odds with one another when the latter expressed that Kristen wasn’t supportive of her pregnancy. When the women confront one another during Brittany’s white party, Kristen shares, “After the summer, you went really hard. You did a podcast and said, ‘I don’t want your baby to come to full term. I didn’t support your pregnancy.'”

However, we learn that it was Zack who shared these negative feelings about Janet. Although Kristen didn’t condone his words, he was still her best friend. Janet apologized for “roping” Kristen in with “Zach’s demonic behavior,” but Kristen was upset that her apology wasn’t “genuine.”

When the mid-season trailer dropped, the cast was seen enjoying a trip to Hawaii—but tensions were quick to surface. Nia voices her frustration with Janet, confiding in Kristen, “I feel like Janet wants to stir the pot, and I’m like, why?”

Danny later reveals, “I’m losing friends because of Janet,” followed by a clip of Janet yelling, “Has Kristen Doute ever apologized for anything in her life? She came after my husband? Good luck. You just put a target on your back, b****.”

The drama escalates during a boat outing, where a heated exchange erupts. Kristen is heard shouting, “Own your f****** words, b****,” while Nia and Janet clash directly. The trailer also shows Zack in tears, pleading for everyone to “stop letting” Janet “win.”
