These Survivor 48 Players Are Having The Biggest Impact On The Show, According To Their Edit
Share and Follow

Since Survivor is such a great reality show, it picks up new fans all the time who have to figure out which seasons to watch first. While that is a wonderful thing, the majority of people who follow Jeff Probst’s show are the kind of fans who know who the player who was medically evacuated first was. Thankfully for the team behind Survivor, there are millions of people who can name the show’s best seasons, know who the greatest players are, and can rank the best winners.

However, while fans can learn facts like which past Survivor players have refused to return, it can be harder to quantify which players are the most impactful. Thankfully, based on how Survivor 48 has been edited, there is a way to track which players have made the biggest impact this season.

How To Track Which Survivor 48 Players Have Been The Most Impactful

At the end of each episode of Survivor 48, fans tend to have a feeling about which players were the most impactful. While those emotional responses should be taken seriously, sometimes it makes more sense to look at things in a more quantifiable way.

Instead of considering the most memorable moments from the episodes that air, there is another way to gauge how impactful each Survivor player has been. Comparing what each player accomplished during the episode based on scoring events is a fascinating way to figure out who is being the most impactful.

Fortunately for fans, there is a very quick way to score what each Survivor 48 player has done throughout the season so far that requires no work from them. In fact, Survivor 48 fans can track what the players have accomplished while gamifying the show in another way.

There is an app called Bracketology that provides users with an experience that is similar to fantasy sports, but focused on reality TV. Completely free, users can compete with other people, including privately with friends, about the outcomes of several reality shows. Since Bracketology allows fans to compete over predicting the show, there is a page where the events of each Survivor 48 episode have been scored, broken down by the players.

If a player does things like win a challenge, go on a journey, successfully use an immunity idol, or becomes the Sole Survivor, they are awarded points. Conversely, if a player is called a threat, has a vote cast against them, sits out of a challenge, or gets voted out, they lose points.

In April 2025, the Big Brother and Deal or No Deal Island icon Dr. Will Kirby exclusively told TheThings why he likes Bracketology. “I like sports, I’m just not as rabid as many of the fans out there. I guess it’s because I’m just too objective: Sporting events are repetitive and you’ve see the same games over, and over, and over, year, after year, after year. Well, at least for me anyway, the games just aren’t all interesting.

Personally, I’m much more emotionally invested in an unscripted reality television program. The twists, turns, betrayal, and even romance! Instead of a linear path like most athletic members, the right reality television show will take you on a winding journey of mystery and intrigue! But I’m also not the kind of person to sit around and just passively have a show playing in the background; if I’m going to view, I am often 100% invested. And that’s where Bracketology comes in. No different than arguing with friends and family about sporting events. Now, those of us who respond best to television have a platform! I’m a big fan of the concept and encourage anyone who likes fantasy sports and reality television to download the app and challenge everyone you know to play against you!”

Based on how many points each Survivor 48 player has earned and lost, that gives viewers a quantifiable measure of how impactful they’ve been in the game.

Star Toomey Has Had A Major Impact On Survivor 48

As of the time of this writing, six episodes of Survivor 48 have aired so far. Over those episodes, Star Toomey is the Survivor 48 player who has earned the most points on Bracketology as she stands at 142 points over the season so far.

Funnily enough, Star’s two highest-scoring outings so far have been during Survivor 48’s first and sixth episodes.

During the first episode, Star earned 32 points thanks to winning two challenges, winning immunity, and receiving a reward. During that same episode, Star also earned points because the show included a scene that revealed her backstory.

The sixth episode of Survivor 48 was Star’s highest scoring, with her earning 34 points, according to Bracketology. Star won points for winning a challenge, progressing very far in another challenge, winning a reward, and many more point-scoring events.

Considering that Star had earned more points through Survivor 48’s sixth episodes, she’s been more successful than many viewers realized.

Kyle Fraser Has Been Survivor 48’s Second-Most Impactful Player So Far

Falling only two points short of Star Toomey’s score, after six episodes of Survivor 48, Kyle Fraser has 140 points, according to Bracketology. After getting lower scores during several episodes, Kyle shot way up Bracketology’s charts after Survivor 48’s sixth episode.

During the sixth episode of Survivor 48, Kyle earned a staggering tally of 45 points.

In April 2025, Dr. Will Kirby also exclusively told TheThings that Bracketology allows him to enjoy being competitive about reality TV again. “I’ve passed the torch for reality shows to the next generation, but that doesn’t mean I’ve lost the fire in my belly to still participate in some fashion. Bracketology allows me to be competitive from the comfort of my own living room. If you’re trying to get on a reality television show or you’re just a huge fan of the genre, Bracketology is definitely the single best way to engage others who love the genre too!”

During that episode, Kyle won two challenges, went on a journey, got to enjoy a reward, and much more. Kyle enjoyed so many scoring events that he blew the competition away even though he lost points because of one thing that happened.

Since Kyle was identified as a “threat,” “target,” or “dangerous,” four points were taken away from his score following the sixth episode.

That means that if nobody had made comments like that, Kyle would have earned an even more impressive 49 points.

Looking At How Impactful The Rest Of Survivor 48’s Cast Has Been

According to Bracketology, other Survivor 48 players are still in the running for being among the season’s most impactful players so far.

After six episodes, Joe Huneter has earned 132 points for himself. That puts Joe only 10 points below Star Toomey’s tally. That means that Joe could easily wind up in first place after only one episode.

The other two players that make up Survivor 48’s five most impactful players after six episodes are David Kinne and Eva Erickson. According to Bracketology, David and Eva both have 127 points, which also puts them in the hunt since they are only 15 points below Star.

On the other end of the spectrum, Justin Pioppi is Survivor 48’s second-lowest scoring player. According to Bracketology, Justin only scored 11 points before he was voted out.

Survivor 48’s first player voted out, Stephanie Berger, comes in last according to Bracketology. Unfortunately for her, Stephanie’s Survivor 48 tenure ended with her having -11 points, which means she lost more points than she won.
