While the 2026 Met Gala dazzled with its usual glamour, actor Timothée Chalamet chose to spend the evening courtside at a New York Knicks game rather than attending the prestigious event with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
The 30-year-old actor was seen enjoying the Knicks’ face-off against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden on Monday, May 4. Social media buzzed with clips of Chalamet, capturing him in high spirits as he mingled with other fans at the game.

Meanwhile, just a short distance away, 28-year-old Jenner captivated the Met Gala crowd in a striking Custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture ensemble. Her outfit featured a nude top seamlessly transitioning into a white gown, creating an illusion of the dress cascading from her body. This eye-catching attire perfectly embodied the evening’s “Costume Art” theme at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Met Gala is renowned for its extravagant fashion statements, where subtlety takes a backseat to bold and imaginative designs. The event remains an annual celebration of creativity and style, drawing attention from around the world.
Chalamet and Jenner were spotted out and about in New York one day prior. In a video obtained by Us Weekly on Sunday, May 3, Chalamet stood next to a car door as Jenner stepped out of the vehicle and the pair grabbed hands.
The pair were seeing a weekend performance of Broadway’s The Fear of 13, which her sister Kim Kardashian produces. Kardashian, 45, and mom Kris Jenner were also seen leaving their cars to attend the show.
Days prior, Chalamet and Kylie were also seen inside Madison Square Garden while watching the Knicks play the Atlanta Hawks. Kylie, for her part, clutched Chalamet’s arm while cheering from their seat at the Tuesday, April 28, game.

“Their relationship is very strong and they have a good rhythm going,” the insider shared at the time, adding that the couple “definitely had a lot of real conversations about their future and what they both want.”
The source shared that the twosome are “not rushing into marriage,” but noted that “they’re totally aligned and have even talked about getting engaged this year.”
“Kylie really wants another baby and has been open about the fact that she doesn’t feel like she needs to be married to do that, and they’re both on the same page about wanting a kid together,” the insider told Us. “Timothée never thought about starting a family until he met Kylie.”
