Though praised for its thrilling action sequences, the film was criticized for its intricate plot, which the critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes describes as “convoluted.”
1 The Last Samurai ($454.6 Million)
Directed by Edward Zwick, The Last Samurai features Tom Cruise as Captain Nathan Algren, a disillusioned Civil War veteran who is hired to train the Japanese army in modern warfare techniques.
