Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae issued vital warning as breakup branded 'PR stunt' by fans

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague have been issued a warning following reports the pair are reuniting.

The TV duo were in a relationship for five years after meeting on Love Island in 2019. They announced their split in August 2024, just one year after they got engaged.

The former couple share a daughter Bambi, who turns two later this month. Four months after Molly confirmed their relationship was over, the 25-year-old influencer was spotted kissing her ex-fiancé on New Year’s Eve.

She has now reportedly set “ground rules” for Tommy to follow as he fights to win her back.

With the couple set for a reunion, fans have wasted no time branding the breakup a “PR tool” claiming the “stunt” helped further Tommy’s book along with Molly’s clothing line.

A recent Instagram post shared by Molly featured plenty of comments about her relationship with Tommy.

“Using the ‘breakup’ as PR for Maebe, Tommy’s book & documentary. But snogging Tommy on NYE? Convenient!!!” wrote one social media user.

Another claimed: “IT WAS ALL A PR STUNT. Well played,” as a third agreed: “They didn’t even really split, money money money.”

The duo have now been warned to “tread carefully” by Sophie Rhone, PR Expert at Cupid PR, in their next move.

She said: “For Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury, their approach moving forward will be crucial. Subtly addressing the rumours if needed through natural, authentic displays of their bond can help reassure their audience.

“However, they must tread carefully to avoid appearing calculated, especially as Tommy has already faced backlash and a drop in followers.”

Molly and Tommy’s split came amid a number of allegations that the athlete cheated on his partner.

Anne Sofie Koktved, Relationship Expert at Datingxperten.de, recognised the impact these allegations could have on their relationship going forward.

“The involvement of third parties can complicate any relationship, particularly for high-profile couples like Molly Mae and Tommy Fury,” she said.

“If their breakup was indeed staged as a PR stunt, it would have been an incredibly risky move given the emotional weight and potential long-term impact of such actions. Authenticity in relationships is vital, and any public manipulation can harm both their bond and their reputations.”
