Tori Spelling has opened up about a debilitating two-month illness that left her confined to bed and unable to work.
On the February 6 episode of her misSPELLING podcast, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star shared details of the severe symptoms she has been grappling with.
“This has been a personal version of hell for me. Though I’ve dealt with illnesses before, nothing has hit me this hard,” Spelling, 52, recounted, as reported by Us Weekly. “For eight weeks, I was unable to work. It all began with sinus issues.”
As her condition deteriorated, she found herself feeling “hopeless” about recovery. “Staying in bed became a depressing ordeal. I dread the thought of returning to it,” she admitted.
Spelling suspects she picked up multiple illnesses from her children — Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, 8 — humorously describing them as her “five petri dishes.”
“I now know the name of every virus and bacterial thing out there. There was enterovirus, there was rhinovirus, there was Covid. It’s everything, RSV,” she explained.
She noted that when her kids — who she shares with ex-husband Dean McDermott — became sick, she often tested positive for the same illness.

She said she endured “the worst flu-like symptoms you can imagine.”
“It took me out. I was flat on my back. Then, it got so ingrained in there it went into my Eustachian Tube. I sound really smart saying that, but that’s your inner ear,” she said. “It was both sinuses. It was an inner ear infection, Eustachian tube. Then, the vertigo kicked in. I’m still having vertigo.”
Spelling said she was prescribed “so many rounds of antibiotics,” but nothing worked — except for a nasal rinse. “I would go to the doctor, they would do cameras,” she recalled. “I could see what was going on. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, that’s crazy what’s up there.’”
As of the February 6 podcast, the 52-year-old said she’s still “not 100 percent better.”
“It was so bad. I couldn’t even come downstairs. [The kids] would have to help me walk to the bathroom to pee. It was outrageous.”
During her illness, Spelling had to pause her podcast, welcoming guests like former costar Brian Austin Green to fill in. She also canceled events, including a January appearance in Las Vegas.
