In the ever-evolving world of political style transformations, Kellyanne Conway stands out for choosing not to follow the trend of elaborate hair extensions that some of her MAGA counterparts, like Kristi Noem, have embraced. Given the recent upheaval in Trump’s administration, with the Department of Homeland Security secretary being dismissed, Conway’s decision to keep it real might be a smart move. Her choice to steer clear of the crowd is commendable, yet it piqued our curiosity about how she might look if she did take the plunge into extensions.
After a little creative magic from our talented Static Media photo editor, we got a glimpse of a potential makeover for Conway. Her natural hair exudes a certain Brigitte Bardot vibe, which can appear slightly unkempt but generally suits her. However, we couldn’t help but admire the mock-up featuring extensions. The longer, fuller tresses were only part of the transformation. Our editor also added discreet lowlights to soften Conway’s brassy blonde locks, smoothed out the flyaways, and the overall effect was astonishingly youthful. For a moment, it almost felt like we were looking at Cheryl Hines or a full-time Fox News anchor—a channel where Conway already contributes. With such a stunning transformation, a Mar-a-Lago style makeover, akin to Karoline Leavitt’s, might not be a bad idea for Conway.
While we loved the elegant, slightly warmer hairstyle crafted by our photo editor, we’re hoping Conway doesn’t experiment with our second mock-up in real life. Cue the dramatic sound effects, because we’re talking about bangs. Our editor ventured further with more lowlights and a feathered fringe, but the result was less impressive. Although the darker hue wasn’t a complete miss—Conway’s striking eyes could carry almost any shade—the signature frosty blonde still wins. The main issue was the bangs, which added unnecessary weight to her look.
Bangs are notoriously tricky, and while some celebrities can pull them off, in Conway’s case, they seem to add years instead of subtracting them. This might be due to the added volume around the face, which the extensions enhanced. It’s also uncertain if darker extensions would even suit her or simply add to the visual heaviness.
Kellyanne Conway’s real hair beats out bangs
Whether or not Conway will embrace hair extensions remains to be seen. In a world where appearances often matter, it’s surprising she hasn’t already tried them. However, should she decide to explore fuller, longer styles, we hope she opts for the sleek, warmer blonde look. And, for the sake of style harmony, let’s keep the bangs out of the picture.
Bangs are tricky for anyone, and while some stars have been able to rock them, in the political consultant’s case, the extra bulk makes her look older. It’s possible that’s simply because of the extra heaviness at the top of the face, which was only intensified by the more voluminous hair in general thanks to those edited-in extensions. Speaking of which, we’re not even sure if the extensions in a darker color would work for Conway or add to the visual heaviness.Â
Time will tell if she hops on the extension train for real, and honestly, considering the cosmetics-obsessed crowd Conway moves in, we’re a little surprised she hasn’t already. That said, if she ever did want to make things look fuller and longer, here’s hoping the politician goes with the sleeker, warmer blonde look. And for the love of all things good and pure, no bangs.Â
