Travis Kelce penned a moving letter to Taylor Swift, whom he affectionately called the “love of [his] life,” as she prepared for the final shows of her Eras Tour.
This touching moment, where Swift read Kelce’s letter backstage before her Vancouver performance on December 6, 2024, was featured in episode six of her docuseries “End of an Era.”
The letter opened with Kelce reminiscing, “So many incredible memories from this tour, but my favorite is experiencing your concert for the first time.”
Swift, with a playful chuckle, continued, “Being captivated and completely won over by a woman who didn’t even know I existed.”
Kelce concluded his heartfelt note by expressing gratitude: “I selfishly say thank you for crafting this unforgettable tour, and to [tour manager] Robert [Allen] for bringing you to Kansas City, Mo. That night in KC marked the beginning of meeting the love of my life.”
The NFL star was referring to the moment he attended the Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium on July 8, 2023, and famously tried — and failed — to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his number on it.
He later went on his “New Heights” podcast to tell his listeners he was upset because she “didn’t want to meet” him.
Despite them missing a connection at that show, the pair began quietly “hanging out” two months later and have been a power couple ever since.
The docuseries highlights how the three-time Super Bowl winner was a huge source of emotional support for Swift throughout her grueling tour.
This was particularly shown when he was the first call she made after her return to the stage in London days after a failed terrorist attack at Austria’s Ernst Happel Stadium, where she was supposed to perform.
“Baby, it’s like the crowd knew that I needed a pick-me-up. They were – when I walked out on stage, they were wilder than I’ve ever seen,” she gushed, as he let her know that he could hear the joy in her voice.
“I’m so happy to be back to doing this in a functional way. Like, I was so happy that I thought I was going to forget how to play guitar and sing,” she added.
The couple has publicly supported each other in their respective careers, a dynamic that the Grammy winner gushed about during episode four of the docuseries.
In the episode, Swift explained how the tight end is the “right fit” for her because their “passions coexist and actually fuel each other.”
“Ultimately we love cheering each other on,” the songstress added. “That’s rad.”
She even brought the athlete out as a surprise guest during the London stop of her Eras Tour, because according to her, “Travis is like a real yes guy in terms of life itself. He’s just up for anything.”
