The men’s hockey team of Team USA accepted an invitation from Donald Trump to visit the White House after their triumphant return from the 2026 Winter Olympics, where they won gold. During this celebratory occasion, the team indulged in a meal famously favored by the former President.
“President Trump served McDONALD’s to Team USA at the White House today, featuring a mountain of double cheeseburgers,” Nick Sortor shared in a tweet while posting footage of the athletes enjoying their meal. “All to the backdrop of patriotic songs loudly playing.”
Trump’s preference for fast food, particularly double cheeseburgers, has been well-documented. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has remarked that Trump has “the most eccentric eating habits.”

The Health and Human Services Secretary told Katie Miller during an appearance on her podcast last month that “[Trump] eats really bad food, which is McDonald’s. And then, you know, candy and Diet Coke. But he drinks the Diet Coke at all times.”
Kennedy explained that Trump prefers food from major corporations because he believes it’s trustworthy and less likely to make him sick while traveling.
“It’s astonishing how he’s still in good health, but he is,” Kennedy noted.
