Valerie Bertinelli shared a shocking throwback photo of herself wearing underwear after being called out by her ex-boyfriend Mike Goodnough.

The “One Day at a Time” star took to Instagram Thursday to share the snap, which was taken in 1979 when she starred on the CBS sitcom and was just 19 years old.

“From what I remember this was at the end of one of many throwaway photo sessions I would have at CBS,” she wrote. “Usually we would do the required poses they wanted and then have some fun at the end.”

“A shot from this session ended up on the cover of Us [Weekly] with a headline about me growing up too fast,” Bertinelli, now 64, recalled the headline that read, “Is TV’s Hottest Young Star Growing Up Too Fast?”

“I mean, they weren’t really wrong … months later I would meet Ed, get engaged and be married within the span of eight months,” she added, referring to her ex-husband Eddie Van Halen, whom she was wed to from 1981 to 2007.

The actress posed in black underwear, a plaid shirt and sandal-style high heels.

Bertinelli shared the revealing photo after Goodnough called her out on social media, claiming she took “backhanded swipes” at him after they broke up six months ago, according to the Daily Mail.

Per the outlet, the writer shared a lengthy post on social media after he was accused of posting cryptic messages to communicate with Bertinelli.

“That is not the case,” he wrote. “I have never at any time posted something on social media for the purposes of communicating with someone indirectly when I know them personally and have ample ways to reach them directly.”

“I am not communicating with Valerie via my posts. I am not engaging with the things she posts,” Goodnough continued.

“While I am disappointed in the array of hostile, dishonest, and uncalled-for backhanded swipes she continues to take at me, there is no war between us.

“She just won’t stop shooting. Valerie is in a war with her ghosts. I’m just the guy who catches the bullets. And that isn’t new.”

Bertinelli and Goodnough called it quits in November 2024 after 10 months together, a source told People at the time.

In March, the “Claire” star praised her ex on social media in honor of their first anniversary of meeting.

Bertinelli claimed she became “a much stronger and more benevolent human for having met him and spent time with him” and described him as “heartfelt, authentic, smart, funny, sensitive, caring, and from the soul.”
