The Valley’s Janet Caperna Recalls Being Arrested Twice as a Teen for Drinking and Marijuana, and Explains Why She Was Charged With “Theft”

Janet Caperna recalled getting “arrested twice,” and suggested that one of the incidents was “awesome” because she got “suspended” from school. She also addressed getting caught with marijuana in her car, and an alleged “theft charge.”

Janet is now a mother and wife, and her arrests were many years ago. The star is a main cast member on Bravo’s The Valley, which follows the lives of young couples near Los Angeles.

“I think I’ve been arrested twice under the age of 18,” said Janet on This Side of The Hill, via @thebravoinvestigator on Instagram. “One, I got arrested for drinking at a school dance … One of my friends, I won’t say who … threw up on our assistant principal because she was so drunk.”

“[My friends and I] had to go to the principal’s office at the dance. Our parents had to come get us, and there were police officers there,” she recalled. “I didn’t go to jail … [but] we got like suspended from school, which was awesome because it was like all of my best friends [having] an extra week off school.”

Janet said she and her friends were “wasted” at the dance.

“I had to do like the diversion program,” she said. “It’s like a program you have to [do] if you get arrested when you’re like underage … [and] you have to go to like D.A.R.E classes essentially with your parents … My mom was like pissed she had to take me.”

Janet suggested she was arrested at age 17.

“I got pulled over and had pot in my car,” she explained. “The police pulled me over, and they like wrote me a ticket. I had to get in the … back of the cop car.”

“Once my mom got there, she just had to sign me out, and then I had to do community service,” said the star.

Later on, Janet claimed that an employer reported her to the police – and she got a “theft charge” – because Janet didn’t realize she was supposed to return an old work phone after she quit. But the employer later explained the situation to the police, noting that they didn’t mean to press charges against her, as they just wanted to “report the phone [as] stolen.”

Janet said it “all got handled,” and she wasn’t arrested that time.
