Vicki Gunvalson Reacts to RHONJ Casting Rumors, Says She Has “No Desire” to Watch a “Whole New Cast” Like RHONY, Plus Sends Support to Teddi Mellencamp Amid Years-Long Feud

Vicki Gunvalson reacted to the Real Housewives of New Jersey casting rumors, and said she has “no desire” to watch a “whole new cast” like the Real Housewives of New York. The ‘OG’ of the Real Housewives of Orange County also admitted that her past shade toward Teddi Mellencamp was “immature” and “ridiculous.”

Last week, Teddi revealed she was having surgery to remove multiple tumors in her brain. Despite Vicki and Teddi’s years-long feud, Vick is now reaching out to share her goodwill.

Around the same time, a report suggested that only Melissa Gorga and Dolores Catania will return to RHONJ next season, as Teresa Giudice may get a spinoff. Kim DePaolo hinted it may be true, and said Bravo has a rule that castmates must be notified within six months — after their final episode airs — as to whether or not they’ll return.

On My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, Vicki was asked about the six-month rule and said that part of the report is actually true.

“It was pretty true to that,” said Vicki, speaking from her own observations. “I don’t know if that’s a rule but it was definitely true to that. And then they could say, ‘Well we’re gonna pause it for a year,’ which is what they did to … New Jersey.”

Though Vicki said she likes returning castmates, she gets tired of “the same fights over and over and over again.”

“So I’m open to new people coming in,” she said. “Bravo obviously has a system. They know what they’re doing. But it is hard for me to want to jump into a whole new cast, like New York. I have no desire to watch them. I don’t know who they are, why they are, I know nothing about it … You get invested in [the original castmates’] lives, and then it’s like all of a sudden, poof they’re gone.”

She also suggested that RHONJ should bring back more than two original stars – or just “be done.”

At one point in the episode, Vicki expressed support for Teddi, and expressed that their beef “goes away” when something this “serious” happens.

“There’s no bitterness when it comes to health,” said Vicki. “I just wish the best for her. I hope she recovers.”

Vicki admitted that her shade toward Teddi in the past was “so stupid.”

“It’s really immature and it’s really ridiculous,” said Vicki. “So Teddi, if you’re listening, I wish you the very best and my heart goes out to you, and you got this, girl. You’re strong.”
