British actor Warwick Davis was one of the many stars to walk the red carpet at the 2025 BAFTA ceremony in London.
The Star Wars icon put on a brave face as he smiled for the cameras just months after his wife Samantha Davis tragically died aged 53.
In April 2024, Warwick confirmed her death in a heart-wrenching statement which paid tribute to his “favourite human.”
On Sunday (February 16), the Harry Potter star made a solo appearance at the annual ceremony celebrating the best national and foreign films.
Warwick rolled onto the red carpet, standing on his Hoverboard, dressed sharply in a burgundy suede blazer, black shirt and black trousers.
The actor completed his look with shiny black shoes and a matching bow tie.
Despite his crushing year, Warwick is set to be awarded a BAFTA Fellowship, a lifetime achievement award in recognition of “outstanding achievement in the art forms of the moving image.”
On the red carpet, the 55-year-old told the PA news agency: “I found out last November, I was actually on the toilet reading my emails and received one from Bafta, with a letter attached, saying: ‘You’ve been awarded a fellowship.’
“I was excited but thought ‘hang on, it could be a scam’, so I checked the email address it came from, and it was indeed a Bafta email address.
Warwick recalled: “Then I got very excited and jumped off the loo and ran around the house telling the kids and the dog.”
Before becoming one of Britain’s most in-demand actors and one of the highest-grossing supporting actors of all time, Warwick got his big break at just 11 years old.
He played a teddy bear-like creature, an Ewok, in 1983’s Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi.
The actor then led the cast in the starring role of the 1988 film Willow as the titular character Willow Ufgood, and as well as the accolades, Warwick also met his wife on set.
They got married three years later and eventually welcomed two children together: a daughter, Annabelle, 27 and a son, Harrison, 22.
