Wendy Williams insists she passed psych test ‘with flying colors’ during hospitalization, is ‘not incapacitated’

Wendy Williams insists she is so mentally sound that she aced her recent psychiatric evaluation.

Along with her friend Gina, the former talk show host, 60, called in to “Good Day New York” Tuesday morning to tell host Rosanna Scotto and everyone watching live about her capacity test results.

“I passed with flying colors!” Williams interjected as Gina assured Scotto that her pal is “not incapacitated.”

Scotto noted that “the court says they were gonna do some testing” on Williams and asked, “Did you not really trust their testing and you wanted somebody independent to do it for you?”

Before Scotto could even finish her question, Williams replied, “Absolutely! Absolutely. I wanted [to be] independently tested. That is what I want[ed], and that is what I got.”

After the ex-broadcaster said Gina could elaborate, she made sure to note, “It’s not that I’m scared to talk. It’s just, under these circumstances, there are certain people that I don’t care to talk to or talk about.”

When Scotto asked whether Williams would be open to having a “sober companion” or “financial consultant” pending the termination of her court-ordered guardianship, she claimed she does not need the former because she is “not drinking ever in [her] life.”

However, as for the latter, she would welcome “somebody to look after [her] money,” adding, “The money that I have right now is all with my guardian person.”

Gina then explained that she will “absolutely” be presenting the judge overseeing Williams’ guardianship — which has been in effect since 2022 — with the psych evaluation results from the “very well-known hospital” Williams has been at since Monday.

“I would be very disappointed, and I would be very concerned if the judge has an issue with those tests,” Gina said.

Williams agreed with Scotto’s assessment that “they’re locking [her] up like [she] committed a crime.”

“I’m on the fifth floor, and it’s called the memory unit,” Williams said of the New York City assisted living facility that’s been her home since 2023, claiming that patients on that floor are ones who “don’t remember anything.”

She also claimed she’s “not allowed” to go outside because she “has to stay in this building.”

“In order to go to the gym, which is on the third floor, I have to be permitted,” she told Scotto. “And then I have somebody who works in the building walk me downstairs — well, I’m in the scooter — and the man who’s working the out, he comes outside to spot me as I work out.

“In terms of how much it costs,” she went on, “it has to be approved by my guardian person. My money is, like, in the air.”

Scotto claimed she “can’t even call” Williams because the latter allegedly doesn’t know her own phone number, prompting Williams to say she has a “landline phone” and that her “guardian person has been having [her] phone for years now.” She called the situation “unbelievable.”

Scotto then gave Williams the opportunity to speak freely and tell everyone her hopes for the “future.”

“Staying in New York, going back to work and — what will I do? Hm, I have options,” she responded. “But in terms of getting out of guardianship, that is my No. 1, A., most important thing.”

Gina reiterated that she feels the capacity test results will “open up a lot of doors” for Williams.

“I did make a report myself, and I brought APS [Adult Protective Services] in. We brought NYPD in. I feel like we have the city agencies involved as well, and they are allowed to go into this case,” Gina shared. APS is reportedly investigating the guardianship as “elder abuse.”

Williams jumped in once more to say that “the cops that showed up” to her assisted living facility Monday morning were “so nice” to her.

“Everybody has been so kind to me,” she marveled. “And getting me to the hospital — everybody’s been fantastic here at the hospital.”

Early Monday, Williams begged paparazzi for help from her assisted living facility — which she has previously likened to a “prison” — by dropping a note from her window that read, “Help! Wendy!!”

After police performed a wellness check on her, she was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

It’s unclear when she will be discharged.

Williams’ team announced her frontotemporal dementia and aphasia diagnoses — which stem from her alleged alcohol abuse — in February 2024; however, she is now claiming she is “not cognitively impaired.”

She filed to have her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, removed last month and will reportedly demand a trial by jury if her request is denied.
