You might think you know all about her, but perhaps you don’t know how many kids Mama June Shannon has.

The From Not to Hot star shares daughter Anna Marie “Chickadee” Cardwell with ex David Dunn, daughters Jessica Shannon and Lauryn “Pumpkin“ Shannon with ex Michael Anthony Ford and Alana “Honey Boo Boo“ Thompson with ex Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, making up her blended family.  

Anna Marie ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell

Mama June was (and is, in many ways) Anna Cardwell’s mom. Anna went on to have two kids of her own: Kaitlyn and Kylee Cardwell. Following her split from ex-husband Michael Cardwell, Anna moved on with Eldridge Toney. 

Anna was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January 2023. The following month, she underwent her first round of chemotherapy after cancer was discovered in her liver, kidney and lung. She tragically died in December 2023, valiantly fighting until the end.

One year after her daughter’s death, June took to Facebook to reflect on Anna’s passing.

“It will be a year on Monday, and we miss the hell out of Anna Marie Cardwell and would give my last penny to just talk to her and [for] her [to] be here for her girls,” she wrote. “Grief honestly [hurts] at random times.”

Though June said she had “no control” over her crying at times, she knew her family had to “keep our promise [that] we take [Anna everywhere] with us like she wanted and I will continue to do so.”

Jessica has appeared on her family’s reality shows, and is on a mission to get fit these days. In January 2021, she shared a side-by-side photo showing off her weight loss, captioned, “Cravings can be a struggle, but I’m glad I’ve been staying committed to my resolution so far this year.”

As it turns out, Jessica underwent $80,000 worth of procedures, including liposuction, a gastric balloon, veneers, highlights and more, to achieve her look.

“It’s been life changing,” Jessica told Hollywood Life about her transformation. “I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Me and my sister would go out and do something and I would change five, six times, because I felt like I couldn’t find something that actually looked decent on me, or I turned around because I [thought] somebody was judging me.”

In September 2024, Jessica announced her engagement to girlfriend Shyann McCant. “Y’all I’ve found my happy place,” the reality star captioned a video. “She said yes! If y’all can’t tell by the picture I was a nervous [wreck]!! Can’t wait to take this next step of life with you baby.”

Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon

Lauryn has been in the spotlight for years thanks to her own personal life and public feud with Mama June.

In April 2022, In Touch confirmed June’s daughter Lauryn was pregnant with twins. That same month, a judge awarded Lauryn sole custody of her younger sister, Alana. Along with the new custody arrangement, Mama June was ordered to pay Lauryn $800 in child support per month for Honey Boo Boo.

Lauryn and husband Joshua Efird welcomed twins Sylus and Stella in June 2022. They are also parents to daughter Ella and son Bentley.

As for her relationship with her mom, Lauryn told People in June 2023 that she was trying to make things work, despite their custody battle. “I’m just at a place where I just want to fix things with my mom and move on,” she said.

Lauryn filed for divorce from Joshua in August 2024, noting that their marriage was “irretrievably broken,” according to court documents obtained by In Touch at the time. The pair agreed to have joint custody of their kids.

Lauryn moved on to a relationship with a man named Darrin Kitchens one month after the split, while Joshua reportedly began dating a woman named Keely.

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson

Alana has grown up quite a bit since we first met her on Toddlers & Tiaras. She now has an Instagram following of more than 1 million. The teenager has been in a relationship with boyfriend Dralin Carswell since 2021, and while she seems happy in her romance, Dralin was in the headlines due to a DUI in February 2023. Fans have since seen Alana struggle with college plans amid her boyfriend’s legal troubles. 

Alana and Dralin are still going strong as of May 2025, but she told E! News that they likely won’t be walking down the aisle anytime soon.

“Not until after school, probably,” she said of getting married. “Just because it’s so expensive and a wedding is a lot of work.”

However, Alana teased, “It’s in the future.” She also opened up about wanting a family with Dralin, adding, “I want to have kids eventually. I don’t want to have a lot of kids — I want maybe two, that’s it — but not for a long time.”

Alana, Jessica, Lauryn and June will appear on season 7 of Mama June: Family Crisis, which premieres on We TV on May 30, 2025.
