Amanda Louise Holden is an English actress, media personality, and singer who was born on February 16, 1971. She has served as a judge on the ITV talent competition series Britain’s Got Talent since 2007. On weekday mornings, she and Jamie Theakston co-host the Heart Breakfast radio show.
Holden received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination in 2004 for her performance as the titular character in the musical theater production Thoroughly Modern Millie. The Grimleys (1998–2001), Kiss Me Kate (1999–2001), Cutting It (2002–2004), Wild at Heart (2006–2008), and Big Top are just a few of her television acting credits (2009). Holden has also served as a presenter for a number of ITV programs, including This Morning, Superstar (2012), and The Sun Military Awards (2009–2014). In 2013, Holden released her autobiography book, No Holding Back, which became a Sunday Times bestseller In 2020, she released her debut studio album, Songs from My Heart, which reached the top 5 on the UK Albums Chart.
Husband And Children
Holden dated George Asprey in 1992 while they were both performing in The Sound of Music. In June 1995, she wed the comedian Les Dennis. After Holden’s affair with actor Neil Morrissey, which attracted media attention, the pair briefly split up in 2000. They then permanently split up in December 2002 and got divorced in 2003. Around this time, she claimed that a “renowned comedian who should remain nameless” had sexually abused her at a public event.
Holden and her fiancé, the record producer Chris Hughes, had their first child in 2006. Holden gave birth to the child in 2006.
She married Hughes at Babington House, Somerset, on 10 December 2008 with former Formula One racing driver David Coulthard acting as best man. After a miscarriage in 2010, she suffered their son being stillborn at seven months in 2011. In 2012, despite medical complications, she gave birth to their second daughter.
