90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days sees people from across the U.S. traveling aboard to meet who they believe is their true love. Season 7 sees Orlando, Florida native Veah Netherton traveling to South Africa to finally meet Sunny Mahdi.
Veah and Sunny’s love story wasn’t a smooth one. Sunny wasn’t trusting of Veah when he learned she was still friends with her ex-boyfriend. It only made matters worse when Veah brought her ex, Rory, with her to South Africa. Although the two found common ground and got engaged, meeting Sunny’s father was another tough hurdle. Veah refused to convert to his family’s religion and Sunny’s father was disapproving of their relationship.
However, fans have become concerned about Veah after she missed the Season 7 Tell-All. She’s since updated fans about her health on social media, and it seems that Veah is dealing with very scary health matters.
Veah Netherton Missed The Season 7 Tell-All For Health Reasons
When the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 7 Tell-All Part 1 premiered, fans were surprised to see that Veah was not present. Usually, those who live in the U.S. all participate in the tell-all in person, while their foreign partners are seen on a monitor. Veah was seen participating virtually and told her cast mates and host Shaun Robinson that she was dealing with an illness after returning from South Africa.
“I started to experience a lot of shortness of breath. Like, even swallowing is just like, super painful, and it has caused me to lose a lot of weight,” Veah said. “I’m down like 50 pounds.”
Veah shared that after doing several tests, doctors found that she had gallstones. “I think we’re on the right track now to get this all figured out,” she told Shaun.
However, in an Instagram Story before the tell-all premiere, Veah shared with her followers that she was dealing with more than just gallstones.
“So on tonight’s tell-all, I say they found gallstones and I think we’re on the right track, but there was and still a lot more going on. I’ve gained a few pounds but am still very underweight,” she shared. Veah then asked her Instagram followers if they could recommend doctors because she had had “no luck” with the ones she had consulted with.
Veah Shockingly Shared That She Was Diagnosed With A Brain Tumor
Fans have been wondering about Veah’s health after she looked very different towards the end of the season. Just a few days after the Tell-All Part 1 premiered, Veah shared a health update on Instagram. Veah shockingly revealed that she was “diagnosed with a brain tumor.”
In her Instagram post, Veah revealed that her diagnosis was made before filming began for Season 7. “I have gotten a lot of questions this whole season about my health & what is going on. I have been so hesitant to answer because I haven’t been well. And loosing my health pretty much over night has been very traumatic but I’m hoping by posting this it can reach the right person & maybe I can get the help I need. So to fully understand we have to go back to before filming,” she shared.
“So before SA [South Africa],I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was severely affecting my life.”
Veah expressed that she decided to “do lympathic draining,” which was advised by a “licensed health coach.” This type of massage “involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to move excess fluid buildup away from your tissues and toward working lymph vessels and lymph nodes so they can get rid of toxins in your body,” per Cleveland Clinic.
In her post, Veah revealed that, over time, doing this caused her health to decline. “All of a sudden, I could no longer swallow anything including my own spit, I was spitting up blood, and within a few days, I could no longer walk. The list of symptoms go on, but all this led to several ER visits and a few hospitalizations.”
The reality star admitted that she could not eat “for about 6 months” and relied heavily on ensures, a nutritional beverage. Veah concluded her statement by sharing that she is no where near finding a solution to what’s going on with her body, and asked her followers to help her find the right doctor.
In a Reddit thread discussing her Instagram post, fans were confused by her health update because she did not share her brain tumor diagnosis while on the show or on the Tell-All. Fans were perplexed about Veah’s many health scares.
- “What on earth? Why did she say gallstones on the reunion yesterday? Why no mention of a freaking brain tumor while in South Africa? Living not by eating food but drinking ensures? Healing by prayer only but wanting a doctor’s help? I’m so confused,” a commenter wrote.
- “It sounds like she’s self diagnosing, which takes away all her credibility. I’m not a doctor but I know a health coach with a massage gun isn’t treatment for a brain tumour,” a comment read.
- “I am just confused but all the different stories we have heard ranging from: gastrointestinal parasite, gallstones, and now brain tumor and lymphatic damage,” another person wrote.
Are Veah And Sunny Mahdi Still Together?
An update on Veah and Sunny’s relationship and whether the two remain engaged was not mentioned in Part 1 of the Season 7 Tell-All. However, a teaser for Part 2 and 3 revealed that it isn’t smooth sailing between the couple.
“I find out that she was seeing someone,” Sunny admits. “Veah was telling me, ‘We are friends. It’s nothing bigger than this.’”
Veah is then seen stating, “No no no,” before the scene ends.
The couple’s journey was especially tough when Veah met Sunny’s father. Not only was he upset with Veah having tattoos, but he was displeased when she told him she would not convert to the family’s religion. Because of this, Sunny’s father told his son, “Don’t count on me for anything in the future.”
Although Sunny did not have a relationship with his father growing up, he was starting to build one as an adult. However, his relationship with Veah became a major setback. In a confessional, Sunny shared, “My dad kicked me out of his life, you know? But I’m hoping that, in time, my dad will forgive us and accept us.”
Veah hoped that Sunny would choose her in the end. “I just hope that loves outweighs and is strong enough to keep us together till he gets to America.”
