What Is The Haart Family Doing After My Unorthodox Life Season 2?

Netflix’s reality show My Unorthodox Life first season introduced audiences to the Haarts, a formerly ultra-Orthodox Jewish family adjusting to modern life in Manhattan. The two seasons followed the fashion designer and mother of four’s life of luxury after running away from her Orthodox Jewish community in Monsey, New York.

Julia’s life looked ideal when the cameras stopped rolling in Season 1. By the time the show picked up in season 2, Julia was in the middle of a messy divorce from her husband, Silvio Scaglia, and was fired from her role as CEO at the modeling agency Elite World Group.

From business woes to an ever-changing family dynamic, where is the Haart family now?

Inside Julia Haart’s Bitter Divorce

Julia Haart and Silvio Scaglia — who jointly managed the Elite World Models agency and the lingerie brand La Perla — have been embroiled in a bitter legal dispute since she filed for divorce in 2022. When he found out she wanted a divorce after two years of marriage, he tried to dismiss her from her role within the company.

  • One day after filing for divorce, Silvio accused her of making “illegal withdrawals” from the company bank account.
  • It was later reported that Julia filed a petition for a restraining order against Silvio, alleging that he was “increasingly volatile, abusive, and unhinged.”
  • Us Weekly later reported that Silvio filed a complaint against her. He alleged that she stole a $401,500 company Bentley.
  • Julia claimed that Silvio withdrew $1.5 million from the account holding her salary as CEO.
  • In December 2022, Silvio dropped the lawsuits filed against his estranged wife, per Us Weekly.

According to Us Weekly, after years of feuding and going through the courts, Julia Haart finally won her legal case. In January 2025, she was awarded 50% of Freedom Holding — the company that owns Elite World Models agency. Page Six further reported that Julia was also awarded their $65 million apartment and nearly $10 million in cash.

Silvio moved on quickly after the end of his marriage to Julia. According to Page Six, he is now engaged to socialite Michelle-Marie Heinemann.

Julia Haart’s Drama At Work Escalated When Cameras Stopped Filming

Julia Haart made a name for herself in the New York fashion world after she left her home in the Orthodox Jewish community of Monsey, New York. She launched her own shoe brand before rising to the ranks of creative director of La Perla. There, she met the brand’s owner, Silvio Scaglia, and the couple married in 2019, the same year he made her CEO of Elite.

But, according to ScreenRant, since My Unorthodox Life ended, Julia’s work and personal life have been embroiled in bitter disputes, lawsuits, and scandals.

When finding out she had ended their marriage, Silvio fired her. This led Julia to file a lawsuit claiming he named her the co-owner of Elite World Group after their 2009 marriage. The two became involved in a legal dispute regarding the ownership of this company for nearly three years.

During the legal dispute, colleagues told Page Six about their difficulties working with Julia, and rumors began to circulate about the possible nefarious way she met Silvio.

In April 2022, she published Brazen: My Unorthodox Journey From Long Sleeves To Lingerie, which detailed the first half of her life, from her childhood to her working for La Perla. In 2023, she launched a shapewear brand called +Body by Julia Haart.

After winning her divorce case, Us Weekly reported that she has reinstated herself as the interim CEO of Elite World Group while she is looking for someone else to fulfill the role. She also won $7.4 million in unpaid management fees, half the proceeds of a Kees van Dongen painting, and half the cash withdrawals that Silvio made from their businesses since their divorce started.

Where Are Julia Haart’s Children Now?

My Unorthodox Life followed Julia and her four children. The family, who left an Orthodox Jewish community together, have a close bond. The reality TV show followed Batsheva’s divorce, Miriam changing her surname to Haart, Shlomo opening up about his first kiss, and Aron struggling to leave behind his orthodox upbringing.

In 2025, Julia is still close with her four children. She told Hello in 2023 that any men in her life have to be vetoed by her kids. If they don’t like him, she claims she is happy to end the romance. The family was recently seen on Instagram celebrating their mother’s legal win against their former stepfather.

We made this rule after my fiasco of a marriage, which is: if any of us are serious about someone, they have to immediately come to a family dinner and the family votes, but if the family doesn’t like the person then they are out, no matter who it is. And we have to stick to it.

But since their reality show stopped filming at the start of 2020, where are her children now?

Batsheva Haart

Julia’s oldest child is a content creator, influencer, and podcast host. Batsheva split from her husband, Ben Weinstein, in November 2021. Their marriage played a significant role in the series, with the couple admitting they married too young.

“People change and shift, that’s what happened here. They made a loving decision to separate,” sources told Us Weekly.

Shlomo Haart

Julia’s oldest son is more low-key than his sisters. He graduated from Columbia and has maintained a close relationship with his siblings and mother. In Season 2 of the reality show, he was working in the legal department at Elite World Group.

Miriam Haart

Miriam graduated from Stanford and is now a tech entrepreneur, software engineer, and podcast host. According to her personal website, Miriam was the youngest teacher at Stanford University, teaching a class on virtual reality and featured on Time Out Mag for her work.

She is the founder of Unorthodox Agency, a female team of engineers, and is passionate about getting more women into STEM. She also identifies as queer and hopes to start a venture fund that invests in female and LBGTQA+ founders.

“As much as I want to do it for the social good, I also want to do it because I think it is a great investment opportunity,” she told Time Out. “Take Spanx, which couldn’t get investment for years because men didn’t understand what shapewear was. I want to start a fund that really listens and invests in those groups of people.”

Aron Hendler

Julia’s youngest son is the most private in the family. When he was younger, he would split his time between his father’s home in Monsey and Julia’s Tribeca penthouse. He appeared alongside his siblings on social media as a kid but in recent years, he has moved away from the spotlight.
