Get ready, Fallout fans! Season 2 just got a release window – and it’s sooner than you may think! In Touch reveals everything to know so far about next installment of Prime Video’s action-packed drama Fallout.
What Is ‘Fallout’’ About?
Originally based on a popular video game franchise of the same name, the Fallout series follows Lucy Maclean (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), Cooper Howard aka The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and more as they struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles after a massive nuclear event.
In this new world, “citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits,” according to IMDb.
Who Is the Cast of ‘Fallout’ Season 2?

Aaron Moten
Fan favorites Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Aaron Moten (Father Stu) and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus) will return for the roller-coaster ride that will be season 2 of Fallout.
Also rounding out the cast are Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Moisés Arias (Hannah Montana), Frances Turner (The Boys) and Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone).
When Is ‘Fallout’ Season 2 Coming Out?

Ella Purnell
While it was rumored that the next season may not air until 2026, it’s officially been confirmed that season 2 will premiere in December 2025. Like the first season, it will stream exclusively on Prime Video.
Inside the ‘Fallout’ Season 2 Trailer
A 30-second teaser for the upcoming season began with a shot of a dirty, partially buried old road sign that reads, “Las Vegas 50 Miles.” The camera shifts and reveals The Ghoul and Lucy standing next to each other in the desert as they start to walk in the direction of New Vegas in the distance.
This implies the season will at least partially follow the storyline of Fallout: New Vegas, the fourth installment of the Fallout video game franchise.
‘Fallout’ Season 2 Takes the Story to a New Level

Walton Goggins
In an April 2025 interview with Complex, Walton revealed that now that viewers “understand” the world of Fallout, the story can take it “to a whole other level.”
“I’ve been around a long time, and usually, a show that people are attracted to. With that license, the second season really starts cooking, right?” he continued. “That’s when some real magic can happen. It says a lot about a lot. It stays in these lanes of the tone that was kinda set but also veers outside of them in the most interesting ways.”
Was ‘Fallout’ Renewed for Season 3?
Yes! While production only just finished filming Fallout season 2, it’s been announced that Prime Video has already made the decision to renew it for a third season.
“We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout,” Vernon Sanders, who serves as head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement at the time.
“Jonah [Nolan], Lisa [Joy], Geneva [Robertson-Dworet] and Graham [Wagner] have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video,” he continued. “Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of season two.”
