She was born in Australia and the United States on May 14, 1969. She is regarded as one of the best actors of her generation and is well-known for her diverse work in independent and mainstream movies as well as on stage. She has been nominated for a Tony Award and two Primetime Emmy Awards, and she has won numerous awards, including two Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and two Academy Awards.
She started her career on the Australian stage after completing her acting training at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
