Some yachties leave a long-lasting impact after appearing on the hit show “Below Deck” and chief stew Daisy Kelliher is one of them. So, it’s hard to imagine never meeting the spunky television personality, seeing as she almost didn’t join the show. In an interview with the Independent, Kelliher spoke about her time on “Below Deck Sailing Yacht,” revealing that she initially “wasn’t interested” in starring in the reality show until the COVID-19 pandemic caused her to change her tune. “I’d lost my job during Covid, and I was pretty miserable during the lockdown, I was given this opportunity, and I thought maybe it was the right time in my life for a change. I thought, ‘What’s the worst that could happen?'” she explained to the outlet.
The second offer to be on the series proved to be a charm, and Kelliher literally got on board with it. “I was ready for a challenge. I was massively nervous about the consequences from what was going to happen,” she explained. “But it’s all turned out OK so far and you need to take these risks sometimes to reap the benefits, but I was definitely nervous.” Kelliher also added that she initially had reservations about being on the show because there’s such a “negative stigma” surrounding reality television.
