In the modern reality show landscape, there have been very few stars whose journey has been as fascinating as Peter Weber’s. After starring in The Bachelor, Peter went on to compete on The Traitors before he joined the cast of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s reality travel competition show, Destination X. While helping Destination X become the summer’s hot new reality show, Peter had to cope with Jeffrey torturing the show’s competitors while hoping to enjoy the adventure.
Fortunately for Peter, his reality show history would have helped him when he was competing on Destination X. To be more specific, it seems like previously competing on The Traitors was the perfect way for Peter to prepare for Destination X.
Peter Weber Has A Fascinating Reality Show History
For much of reality show history, the genre’s stars were boxed in to a certain degree based on how fans knew them. Depending on what kind of reality show someone started their career appearing in, they would almost always stay within that box.
If a reality show star made their first appearance on a Real Housewives show or something like it, they would typically remain appearing on similar shows. Similarly, people who starred in a reality competition show like Survivor would typically only branch out into similar series like The Challenge.
Fortunately for people like Peter Weber, those lines have certainly blurred in recent years. With that in mind, it makes sense to look at the history of Peter’s reality show journey.
When Peter Weber began his reality show career, he appeared on The Bachelorette. From there, Peter went on to appear on other reality dating shows that are part of the Bachelor Nation franchise.

After Peter came in third on The Bachelorette, he went on to make a guest appearance on Bachelor in Paradise. More notably, Peter went on to be the star of The Bachelor Season 24, and he left a huge mark on the show.
After Peter starred in The Bachelor, it seemed clear that there were very few options for him to continue to star in the franchise. With that in mind, it seemed entirely possible that Peter’s time as a reality show star could have come to an end at that point.
In March 2024, Collider published their list of the best The Traitors US players up until that point. That list named Peter as the third-best player in the show’s history at that time, which was an impressive achievement for him.
Then, it was announced that Peter would be joining the cast of The Traitors Season 2. During that season, Peter impressed many of the show’s fans by displaying a great deal of strategic acumen. Most memorably, Peter came up with a strategic way to trick the Traitors into exposing themselves before he was “banished” and fell short of winning the season.
After his The Traitors’ tenure, it was announced that Peter would be joining the cast of a brand-new NBC reality show called Destination X.
Peter Weber’s Origin, According to Famous Birthdays
- Peter Weber Was Born on August 4th, 1991
- Peter Weber Was Born in Westlake Village, California
- In August 2025, Peter Weber Turned 34 Years Old
Even though he entered the game late, which painted a target on his back, Peter yet again impressed fans. During Destination X’s first season, Peter became the runner-up, falling just short of winning a reality show for the first time.
Competing On The Traitors With Reality Competition Show Greats Was A Perfect Learning Experience For Peter Weber
From the moment that Peter Weber walked on Destination X’s bus, he seemed to be incredibly dialed in. Looking back at Peter’s The Traitors Season 2 experience, it seems like competing in Alan Cumming’s castle perfectly prepared him for Destination X, and other competition reality shows.
During The Traitors Season 2, Peter found himself competing against some of the most respected reality show “gamers” ever. In fact, it is hard to overstate how successful some of Peter’s fellow The Traitors Season 2 competitors have been on other shows.
Peter spent time in The Traitors‘ castle with the Survivor legends Parvati Shallow and Sandra Diaz-Twine. Peter also competed against The Challenge’s Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, Peppermint from RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Dancing with the Stars’ Maksim “Maks” Chmerkovskiy. If that list wasn’t impressive enough, Peter also competed against Janelle Pierzina and Dan Gheesling from Big Brother.
Looking at the group of competition reality show veterans that Peter competed against, some people may assume he learned from them. For example, a July 2025 post on the r/TheTraitorsUS subreddit was from a fan who seemed to make that argument.
“As a Parvarti lover (her book should get here soon), I wasn’t a Pete fan at first. You can tell he learned a thing or two from Traitors on how to play a strategy game.”
While it seems likely that Peter would have learned some from his former The Traitors competitors, that doesn’t seem to be the main thing he took away from that show.
After all, Peter spent The Traitors Season 2 teaming up with other people against the reality competition reality show veterans like Parvati and Dan.
Instead, it seemed like Peter walked away from his The Traitors Season 2 experience recognizing that he had good competition reality show instincts. That trust in his own instincts seems to have prepared him to almost win Destination X.
When Peter joined the Destination X competition, he didn’t take much time to get to know the other players before forming an alliance he remained true to throughout the season. With very little time to decide who to work with on Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s show, Peter appears to have trusted his instincts and made great decisions. With that in mind, it seems like The Traitors was the perfect training for Peter before he began competing on Destination X.
