As much as fans of The Traitors love Alan Cumming and his glorious outfits, it is the reality show’s intrigue that captivates most viewers. After all, it has been fascinating to see “Boston” Rob Mariano break the show, Cirie Fields betray her allies, and Nikki Garcia’s game blow up for personal reasons. Fans have also found it hard to look away from Tom Sandoval’s sweaty armpits and when “Boston” Rob took out Bob the Drag Queen.

Sadly for Real Housewives fans, however, Season 3 of the show started on a bitter note after Dorinda Medley’s controversial “murder.” Even after Dorinda’s angry outburst, which Dolores Catania defended, it still felt wrong that The Real Housewives of New York City star exited so fast. Now that Dorinda is returning for Season 4, the sad truth is she could quickly be “murdered” again. On the bright side, however, there are also reasons to think that Dorinda could take the show by storm.

There Are Two Main Reasons To Think Dorinda Medley Could Be “Murdered” First During The Traitors Season 4

During Season 3 of The Traitors, the reality show’s dedicated fans went through a real emotional roller coaster. For example, many fans found it very frustrating that the Traitors constantly turned on each other and were very rarely on the same page.

Another one of the reasons why many The Traitors fans were emotional about the show’s third season was because of the first person to be “murdered.” After many fans couldn’t wait to see The Real Housewives of New York City’s Dorinda Medley compete on The Traitors, she was the first person to be “murdered.”

Obviously aware of how frustrated fans were that Dorinda left the game so quickly, The Traitors producers brought her back for Season 4. Unfortunately for frustrated fans, however, there are two main reasons to think that Dorinda could be “murdered” first again during Season 4.

The first reason to think that Dorinda could also be voted out first during The Traitors Season 4 is extremely simple.

The most obvious reason to think that Dorinda could be “murdered” first during The Traitors Season 4 is that there is no reason to think she has changed dramatically. As a result, similar events that led to Dorinda being “murdered’ first during The Traitors Season 3 could transpire again.

During The Traitors Season 3, Dorinda and several other competitors found themselves in a harsh situation following a mission. After agreeing to sacrifice their chance at immunity, Dorinda and the other players had to spend time in the cold as they waited to be rescued from the middle of a body of water.

Once Dorinda finally arrived at the castle following the mission, she discovered that the immune competitors ate dinner while she was left in the cold. Not one to suffer fools lightly, Dorinda expressed how angry she was. While Dorinda had very valid reasons to be angry, that outburst seemingly led in part to her “murder.”

A February 2025 TheThings article quoted a video that Danielle Reyes posted on social media about Dorinda’s “murder.”

Danielle explained that the Traitors targeted Dorinda because she was perceived as having the “biggest voice” of the Real Housewives in Alan Cumming’s castle during Season 3.

“So we decided, because Dorinda was the biggest voice, and we knew she will be the leader, and we knew if she piped one of us. And you guys could say, ‘Oh, but she wasn’t on to you.’ But she eventually may have been on to us, and that’s scary because once she had her eyes focused on somebody. Baby she’s gonna gather like, three people gonna follow her plus Bob Hopper that is five votes and your a** is banished okay? So we did it as a preventative maintenance.”

Since Dorinda is likely to speak up during The Traitors Season 4 as well, that creates the real possibility that she could “murdered” first again.

The other reason to think that Dorinda could be “murdered” first again is because of precedent. After all, Dorinda could wind up suffering the same fate as one of Survivor’s most heartbreaking players.

During Survivor: Redemption Island, Francesca Hogi and Phillip Sheppard very quickly didn’t see eye-to-eye. Largely as a result of that drama, Francesca wound up on the outside of an alliance looking in and became the season’s first player voted out.

Since Francesca clearly seemed to have potential as a player, she was then brought back for Survivor: Caramoan. After being placed on the same tribe as Phillip again, Francesca was voted out first again during her return season. Unfortunately for Dorinda, there is a strong possibility that she could face the same fate as Francesca.

When Francesca was immediately voted out of Survivor for the second time, her feud with Phillip definitely played a major role in that. However, there was another major factor that led to Francesca’s second early exit.

During the early days of a reality show, the competitors often haven’t had much of an opportunity to get to know each other. As a result, it can be hard to single anyone out as the person to go first so competitors often look for any excuse to choose someone to eliminate.

When someone has been voted out first in the past, that can be reason enough to vote them out first again. After all, new players will inherently feel like a show’s veterans understand the game better, so there is some logic to walking in their footsteps.

Why Dorinda Medley Could Rewrite Her The Traitors Legacy During Season 4

Similar to the fact that there were two main reasons to think she could be “murdered” first again, there are also two main reasons to think that Dorinda will last longer.

The first reason to think that Dorinda could last far longer during her second time playing is that many people love her. Of course, there are a lot of The Real Housewives of New York City fans who adore Dorinda. On top of that, Dorinda has maintained strong friendships with other Real Housewives stars for years.

While there is no doubt that Dorinda has a history of angering people, the fact that she is beloved also shouldn’t be ignored. If The Traitors Season 4’s cast has more people who understand Dorinda’s charms, that could make her last longer. On top of that, people may get the chance to like Dorinda more during Season 4 if she isn’t given a valid reason to be angry early on.

There also is a reality show precedent to think that Dorinda won’t be the first person to be “murdered” during The Traitors Season 4.

Throughout reality show history, several competitors have gotten a second chance to win. In many cases, the producers of the reality show have recognized that those competitors were vulnerable to being voted out first upon their return. As a result, several reality show competitors have been given immunity when they returned.

A perfect example of that came during The Traitors Season 2. When Kate Chastain was surprisingly given the chance to play again after competing during the first season, all eyes were on her. However, Kate wasn’t at risk at first as she was immune from banishment when she entered the game. With that in mind, Dorinda might be immune at first during The Traitors Season 4, which could mean that she won’t be vulnerable to being “murdered.”
