Fans might remember Kevin Jonas from his memorable Disney Channel days, but the singer has largely stepped back from the television limelight in recent years. Despite this, reality TV seems eager to pull him back in, with shows like Dancing With The Stars persistently trying to recruit him.
Kevin recently shared some insights into just how persistent the producers of the dance competition have been. He highlighted why, despite their interest, he feels the show might not be the right fit for him.
In a conversation with InStyle, Kevin, along with his brothers Joe and Nick, tackled a variety of fan questions. When the topic of Dancing With The Stars came up, Kevin candidly revealed the number of times he has turned down offers to join the cast, emphasizing his repeated decisions to say no.
Kevin Isn’t Interested In DWTS, Despite Being A Fan
In a recent conversation with InStyle, Kevin and his brothers Joe and Nick answered a series of questions from fans. When it came up that Kevin has been asked to join the cast of Dancing With The Stars several times, he was honest about how many times he’d turned them down.
When Joe teased that Kevin had been asked “pretty much every season for the last 20 years,” Kevin didn’t deny it:
For a long time, yeah. I have said no. It’s just not for me. But thank you so much. I’m a huge fan. I will say, we watch the show. It’s very fun. I feel like it’s really back. Dancing With the Stars is fully back.
Kevin’s younger brother, Nick, chimed in that he was also a fan, especially of the current season. He noted that he personally was rooting for contestant Robert Irwin, son of wildlife expert Steve Irwin. “It’s having a moment. I’m pulling for Mr. Irwin,” he shared.
“And Efron. Dylan’s doing it,” Kevin added, proving he’s been staying up to speed with Season 34. He also went on to joke that fans could likely expect to hear one of the Jonas Brothers’ songs used in one of the final episodes of the season.
While it seems like fans won’t be seeing Kevin on the ballroom floor anytime soon, they will be able to catch him on the big screen. Recently, Kevin and his brothers have been on a major press tour to promote their new holiday film, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie. The film is intended to be a bit satirical, with each of the brothers playing a dramatized version of themselves.
In the same conversation with the outlet, Kevin did note that he and his siblings did do a bit of dancing in some of the scenes. He said that filming the movie together had been a wonderful experience overall, especially because they got to do so with their family members:
It was great. The first scene that we filmed of the movie was with everyone together as a family. Really got the film going strong right off the bat.
“We’re playing ourselves,” Nick added. “So, casting other people to be our family would not have been believable or worked. And it was just great to have them there and set the whole tone for the whole project.” A Very Jonas Christmas is available for fans to stream on Hulu now.
