Each time a new season of Survivor begins, fans of Jeff Probst’s beloved reality show can’t know what they are going to see. New fans who have to figure out which seasons to watch first and don’t know about the medical evacuations and that some players have refused to return will be the most shocked. However, even longtime fans who can rank every season ever, have opinions about who the best players are, and can name every winner still can’t predict a lot of what will happen.
During Survivor 48, the season’s eventual winner quickly revealed he could be so strategic that a legendary player paid their respect to him. Despite that, most of Survivor’s most knowledgeable fans predicted throughout the season that another player would win. While that proves how unpredictable the show is, it is even more surprising that Kyle paid tribute to the belt he wore during Survivor 48 after he won the season.
Kyle Fraser Revealed How The Best He Wore During Survivor 48 Helped Him Immensely
When most fans think about what it would be like to compete on Survivor, they envision things like the challenges, the strategy talks, and lying in the shelter. However, there are so many aspects of playing Survivor that fans rarely, if ever, think about.
One perfect example of an aspect of Survivor that most fans ignore is how incredibly boring it can be during the game. While that makes perfect sense, most Survivor players talk about coping with the boredom being one of the hardest parts of the game.
Another aspect of Survivor that fans also often ignore is the importance of the clothes the players wear during the game. With that in mind, it is fascinating to look at Kyle Fraser revealing how useful the best he wore during Survivor 48 was.
In June 2025, Kyle published a video on his TikTok account about the belt he wore during Survivor 48.

During the video, Kyle explained that the shorts he wore during challenges were loose when the season began.
“These navy shorts, which I used for my challenges, were already big before I started the game.”
Of course, a lot of people like to wear clothes that fit a little bit bigger on them, for a variety of reasons.
When Kyle began the season with shorts that were a little bit loose, they may have worked at the time. However, as the season progressed, Kyle’s loose shorts could easily have become a big problem for him, especially during challenges.
During Survivor 48, Kyle Fraser wasn’t considered to be a challenge beast. However, it is worth noting that Kyle certainly enjoyed a great deal of success during the challenges. According to The Survivor Wiki, Kyle won nine challenges during Survivor 48.
During his TikTok video, Kyle also revealed that he lost a significant amount of weight during Survivor 48.
“I lost 28 pounds playing Survivor start to finish.”
As Kyle’s TikTok video continued, he addressed the obvious implications of what he’d revealed about his shorts and weight loss. To be blunt, Kyle stated that his belt was the only thing that allowed his clothes to stay on during the challenges.
“This belt is the only thing holding my pants up in these challenges.”
While it may not seem like Kyle’s belt made much of a difference for him during Survivor 48, it clearly did. After all, there is a specific reason why Kyle could have had a major problem if he didn’t have his belt.
As any Survivor fan should already know, challenges can be so close that winning and losing comes down to a matter of seconds.
If Kyle was running around during the challenges and his shorts were falling off, he certainly would have found himself taking a second to pull them up over and over. With that in mind, Kyle’s belt could have made the difference between winning and losing challenges.
As a part of the TikTok video, Kyle revealed that he had no choice but to wear the belt during the challenges. As Kyle explained, he didn’t have any other shorts when Survivor 48 was filming.
“I didn’t have athletic shorts. I had this navy pair of shorts and that khaki pair of shorts.”
While Kyle obviously depended on his belt, he was willing to laugh about it in the TikTok video. While talking about when he tucked his shirt in during a challenge, Kyle commented that he looked ridiculous with the belt fully exposed. “I tucked it in. I think that it would keep my body heat in. In reality, it just made me look like a dumba** on TV.”
Survivor Clothes Can Be Extremely Impactful
Even though fans rarely think about the clothes Survivor players wear, it should be noted that those choices can make a huge difference. To prove that, there are two infamous moments from Survivor history to look back at.
During Survivor: Pearl Islands, the players were only allowed to use the clothes they were wearing while traveling to the game. As a result, Rupert Boneham began the game wearing what he described as “dress jeans.”
Wearing jeans while living on a wet beach quickly became a huge issue for Rupert. As a YouTube video shows, the jeans started rubbing Rupert’s legs raw. In order to stop the pain, Rupert spent the season wearing a skirt that was made from a dress that his tribemate was wearing that they cut in half.
During Survivor: David vs. Goliath, Angelina Keeley found herself feeling cold every night because she didn’t have anything warm to wear. In that case, Angelina went so far as to try to get something warm to wear by waiting until Natalie Cole was voted out and then asking for her coat.
Both highly memorable Survivor situations give fans an idea of how far players will go to gain some comfort during the game.
