During the first three seasons of The Traitors, fans of the reality show have seen some truly incredible things. Between brutal betrayals, Tom Sandoval’s sweaty armpits, “Boston” Rob Mariano breaking the show, and controversial “murders,” the show keeps fans guessing. If that wasn’t enough, several behind-the-scenes facts have come out, including the personal reason why Nikki Garcia’s game ended and the reason why “Boston” Rob lasted so long.
Since The Traitors is such a compelling show, fans have become so invested that they’ve picked up on trends. For example, after “Boston” Rob betrayed Bob the Drag Queen, fans noticed that RuPaul’s Drag Race stars exited the show early during Season 2 and Season 3. However, there are reasons to believe that Monét X Change will break that curse during The Traitors Season 4.
Why The Traitors Fans Think Monét X Change Will Go Far
Whenever the cast for a new season of The Traitors is announced, it is fascinating to see how the show’s fans react. After all, one of the things that makes The Traitors so special is that the show casts people from a variety of different arenas. As a result, most The Traitors fans won’t know who some of the competitors are when a new cast is announced.
When the cast for The Traitors Season 4 was announced, most fans and observers were talking about Donna Kelce and Michael Rappaport. While that makes sense, the season has many cast members that will be fascinating to see compere in Alan Cumming’s castle.
RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Monét X Change is a perfect example of a The Traitors Season 4 cast member who seems like they will be great on the show. In fact, some The Traitors fans have been talking out about why Monét X Change will go far on the show.
On June 18th, 2025, a fan on the r/TheTraitorUs subreddit posted asking the fans about Monét X Change.

After that fan gave a fascinating description of who Monét X Change is and her reality TV history, the fans on the subreddit were asked a simple question.
“How far do you think Monét will get on The Traitors?”
Fortunately for her, the responses to the post quickly communicated that fans are confident that Monét X Change could succeed on The Traitors.
The top most-upvoted response put Monét X Change’s chances on The Traitors in the context of what other RuPaul’s Drag Race stars have done on the show.
Monét X Change’s Origins, According to Famous Birthdays
- Monét X Change Was Born On February 19th, 1990
- Monét X Change Was Born In Brooklyn, New York
- As of July 2025, Monét X Change Is 35 Years Old
That response argued that Monét X Change would break the trend of RuPaul’s Drag Race stars being quickly eliminated on The Traitors.
“If any drag queen will break the early out curse, it’ll be Ms XChange”
In fairness, the next most-upvoted response seemed less confident that Monét X Change will go the distance in Alan Cumming’s castle.
Before joining the cast of The Traitors Season 4, Monét X Change already had a connection to the show. As can be heard on Apple Podcasts, Monét X Change co-hosts the “Sibling Rivalry” podcast with The Traitors Season 3 competitor, Bob the Drag Queen.
However, that response did argue that Monét X Change has a lot of qualities that should make her go far on The Traitors.
“People will love Monet I am sure, smart talented and funny. Hope she lasts.”
To be sure, being smart, talented, and funny could lead to Monét X Change enjoying a lot of success on The Traitors. That said, the reality is that if Monét X Change becomes popular in the castle, she could also wind up being “murdered.”
On top of simply praising Monét X Change in general, some fan responses to the subreddit post were more specific. For example, the next most-upvoted response argued that Monét X Change has the strategic understanding to go far on The Traitors.
“Monet is also a huge fan of shows like Survivor so I think strategy-wise she’ll do well as long as she doesn’t outwardly go too hard too soon. I’m absolutely rooting for her and I hope she makes it all the way!”
If that wasn’t compelling enough, another fan response pointed out that Monét X Change enjoyed success as a part of the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise. That was an extremely valid point given how fierce the competition to win on RuPaul’s Drag Race-related shows is.
“Runner-up on All Stars 7 All Winners should be highlighted!”
Another fan stated that when they watched Bob the Drag Queen on The Traitors, they came to believe that Monét X Change would do better. “While watching Bob’s gameplay, I kept thinking that Monet would be so much more strategic/better at this. I’m glad she’s getting the chance to play.”
Why Monét X Change Doing Good On The Traitors Would Break A Curse
When Monét X Change joined the cast of The Traitors Season 4, she should have only been concerned with doing the best for herself. However, for fans of The Traitors and RuPaul’s Drag Race, there is no denying that Monét X Change going far in Alan Cumming’s castle would break a curse of sorts.
During the first season of The Traitors, nobody from RuPaul’s Drag Race competed. However, during The Traitors Season 2, Peppermint from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 joined the competition.
Unfortunately for RuPaul’s Drag Race fans, Peppermint was the first person to be “banished” during The Traitors Season 2.
During The Traitors Season 3, Bob the Drag Queen joined the cast and seemed to be doing better than Peppermint. In fact, there was a time when Bob the Drag Queen appeared to be running the show and might go far.
However, things went awry when Bob the Drag Queen said something that upset “Boston” Rob Mariano from Survivor. Ultimately, Bob the Drag Queen became the third player to be banished.
With Peppermint and Bob the Drag Queen being “banished” far too early, fans started to feel like RuPaul’s Drag Race stars are cursed on The Traitors.
