Property renovation series Battle on the Beach aired on HGTV for four seasons, but will there be a fifth? This has been the question on fans’ minds, and sadly, it is the end of the road! Co-host Alison Victoria (who worked alongside Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak) revealed the reality TV show has been canceled.
During an episode of Victoria’s Pap Smear podcast, she commented on the show and how she had an incredible time working on it. But there was something she did not like: how it had been edited in post-production. It is this editing that Victoria feels is part of the reason the show will not return for another season.
What Has Alison Victoria Said About ‘Battle On The Beach?’
Victoria gave insight into the future of Battle on the Beach on her podcast. “I did a show called Battle on the Beach. I love that show. It was so fun and funny. And then all of a sudden, I watched the episode, I’m like, well, where’d all that [great content] go? I get it, it’s a lot of content to try to put into 42 minutes, but where is it? Where’s the great editing?” she told her guest, Retta, on an episode that aired on July 1.
She continued, “You’ll lose a show that way. I truly believe that. Battle on the Beach did not get picked back up, which is sad, because it was like adult spring break.”
The news came as a shock to many fans because HGTV had not officially announced the cancellation, despite Victoria’s comments. The network has, however, recently announced the cancellation of four other shows, including Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Izzy Does It, and Bargain Block, People reports.
What Have Fans Said About Battle On The Beach’s Cancellation?
Victoria’s most recent Instagram post, made on July 13, focused on her friendship with her Battle on the Beach co-star, Taniya Nayak. She shared several photos of them, and in the caption, she teased how Nayak will be on the next episode of her podcast on Tuesday, July 15. Nayak’s appearance will likely provide an excellent opportunity for fans to learn more behind-the-scenes information about the series, and perhaps offer a glimpse into their plans for the future after their show was not renewed.
“We built careers, avoided jail time, and somehow made it to set on time,” the caption reads. “This is what friendship in the spotlight looks like with my best b**ch @taniyanayak.” Speaking of Nayak’s guest appearance on her podcast, Victoria wrote, “You don’t want to miss this one!”
Nayak reacted to the post, writing, “Love you! A great real deal convo.”
Fans have reacted to the post, praising the friendship between their two favorite stars, while also sharing how sad they are that Battle on the Beach has come to an end. “You two look fantastic! Will miss your beach reno show,” a fan wrote. “Sad that the battle of the beach was cancelled,” another shared. “Aww, I didn’t know you two were such close friends. I love you both!” an excited fan commented.
