Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are already the parents to two adorable mini-me’s – a son, Archie, born in 2018, and a daughter, Lilibet, born in 2021.
The couple famously relocated from the U.K. after giving up their royal duties to California to lead a more low-key life in privacy. Following this, Harry and Meghan dived deep into the entertainment industry and welcomed another child.
Harry and Meghan have spoken fondly of parenthood, and admit that their kids were one of the motivating factors in their decision to leave the U.K. But don’t expect these two to have more children in the near future. Here’s what Harry and Meghan have said about the possibility of a third child, and what they’re focusing on instead.
Prince Harry And Meghan Say Two Kids Is Their Max
Harry and Meghan have already shut down speculation over whether they’ll have a third child. In 2019, Harry replied, “Two, maximum!” when discussing his hopes for future kids.
Pregnancy was also a difficult time for Meghan, given her status in the spotlight. The media hounded her for photos and information while she was expecting both of her kids, though her first pregnancy was more publicized.
In addition, the former Suits star was subjected to criticism from the press and public, particularly during her pregnancies, making them more challenging Meghan has also chosen to be candid about the pregnancy loss she suffered between the births of her son and daughter.
“Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few,” she wrote in a piece for the New York Times in 2020.
“After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right,” Meghan continued. “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”
Now, They Want To Make It Big In Hollywood
Meghan has denied she’ll return to acting now that she and Harry have left their royal duties. But that doesn’t mean the couple is done with showbusiness.
According to reports, Harry and Meghan are looking to establish themselves in the industry. Now that they’re supposedly done having kids, the two are devoting their energy to their career aspirations.
“Harry’s always had a creative streak [and] Meghan’s inspired him to take it to the next level,” a source told Us Weekly.
“Working in the entertainment industry isn’t something he particularly thought about doing as a royal, but since separating from the royals he now has the opportunity to explore new, exciting opportunities and can’t wait to get his upcoming projects off the ground,” the source continued.

“Harry’s determined to make it in Hollywood, just as much as Meghan. He’s focusing on making documentaries connected to good causes — not just on the production side of things,” they added. “We’ll also be seeing him in front of the camera, more as a spokesperson than anything else.”
So far, Harry and Meghan have signed several lucrative entertainment deals. This includes a huge partnership with Netflix this brokered in 2020, which is reportedly worth $100 million.
The collaboration will allow the couple to produce a series of original content for the streaming giant, including documentaries and children’s programming.
“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” Harry and Meghan said of their intentions in a statement announcing the deal.
Moreover, Harry and Meghan earned a reported $30 million by signing a similar deal with Spotify to produce original content for its platform.
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Keep Their Kids Away From The Public
Harry and Meghan are currently doing big things in the entertainment industry. Now doesn’t seem like an ideal time to have a third child, even if the couple hadn’t shot down that idea years ago. Though Harry and Meghan are keeping themselves in the spotlight, don’t expect them to do the same of their kids.
The couple are known for limiting the amount of photos available featuring their children. The parents have only shared a handful of images featuring their kids, many of which feature the children’s heads turned away.
Meghan has said her experience with the royal family motivates her to keep her children’s identities as private as possible.
“That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,” she’s said.
“There’s literally a structure by which if you want to release photos of your child, as a member of the family, you first have to give them to the Royal Rota,” Meghan continued. “Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?”
As it appears, Harry and Meghan are focused on their careers and enjoying the family they’ve built, not expanding it any further.
