In a heartfelt note shared through X on Tuesday, July 7, the Big Sick actress, 42, expressed her thoughts: “It seems that Swift left *her* [Lively] out because she has concluded the chapter of her life centered on marriage, thus losing the muse for her initial profound subject,” Kazan mused. She further elaborated, “Rather than wishing for her own relationship’s demise, she is crafting the next phase of personal drama through bonds of female camaraderie.”
Us Weekly, with confirmation from various insiders, noted ahead of Swift’s big day at Madison Square Garden on July 3, when she wed Travis Kelce, that Lively, 38, was notably not on the guest list for this celebrated New York City affair.
After facing criticism from Swift’s enthusiastic supporters, Kazan took to X once more, three hours post her initial comments, to clarify her intentions. She remarked, “I find it amusing that this is perceived as a critique! Her romantic life has indeed inspired her many songs. As a storyteller, it’s natural for her to seek fresh narratives,” Kazan explained.

An insider told Us on June 23 that Lively, whose close bond with Swift dissipated after the Gossip Girl alum’s legal battle with her It Ends With Us director and costar Justin Baldoni, “understands” why she wouldn’t have received an invitation to Swift’s wedding.

As to where the former friends currently stand, the insider said, “They haven’t been in touch in several months, and their last correspondence was only a few casual texts back and forth. That is the extent of their friendship.”
Swift and Lively severed close ties after the pop star’s name was dragged into Lively’s contentious battle with Baldoni, 42. Lively and Baldoni reached a settlement in May after an 18-month legal saga that began in December 2024 when Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni.
