Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is turning to primetime romance television to deliver his latest message to voters.
During Wednesday’s season premiere of ABC’s The Golden Bachelor, Mamdani’s campaign debuted an ad designed to catch the attention of older New Yorkers.
The spot, titled Rose, borrows directly from the long-running dating show format.
In the ad, Mamdani appears in a dimly lit room and speaks directly into the camera.
“You deserve better,” he says.

“New York politics has often been stale and predictable,” a campaign spokesperson said.
“This ad shows that Zohran is willing to meet voters where they are, whether that’s at a town hall, in their living room, or during their favorite television program.”
Mamdani’s entry into the general election sets up an unusual three-way contest.
His opponents include Andrew Cuomo, the former Democratic governor now running as an independent, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, a radio host and founder of the Guardian Angels.
Cuomo, who left the governor’s office in 2021 after facing sexual harassment allegations he denies, has pitched himself as an experienced alternative to both Mamdani and Sliwa.
