It was revealed earlier in the year that singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran has overtaken Adele as the highest-earning musician on the planet, becoming one of the top 10 celebrity earners in the world.

Yet it’s now been calculated that his daily earnings alone are a mammoth £75,000 a day – and that over the past year he has made a profit of £27 million.

At only 27-years-old, the New Man crooner has now overtaken Adele, who previously held the title of the world’s richest musician.

Over the weekend, Ed Sheeran Ltd released its financial records. The business boasted an annual turnover of £36,293,611 with a gross profit of £27,376,900. Cut down, this means the Shape Of You singer makes £75,005 per day and £3,125 per hour.

The accounts also revealed his UK tax bill to be £5,293,424. Comparatively, Facebook paid a UK corporation tax bill of £5.1 million. Once deductible expenses were applied, the social media powerhouse only actually paid £2.6 million.

Companies House states, however, that Ed himself took home just £8,164 and has left £16 million in the bank.

Ed – who also proposed to long-term partner Cherry Seaborn this year – is known for once sleeping rough outside Buckingham Palace and being homeless for two years.
