A private New York City Club is looking to upgrade its clientele after receiving complaints that it’s running rampant with mobsters and half-naked girls looking for sugar daddies.
Casa Cipriani, the members-only club often frequented by celebrities like Leonardo De Caprio, is eager to attract a more sophisticated crowd, as word spreads about the presence of members with questionable backgrounds, sources say.
‘They’re trying to get a better crowd because everyone is complaining that there are a bunch of (mob types) and … young girls who are practically naked running around,’ a source told Page Six.
Another source described members as like ‘girls looking for sugar daddies.’
Located in Lower Manhattan in the iconic Battery Maritime Building, the club still has a lengthy waitlist of 4,000 people. But a source said ‘they’re looking for a cooler clientele, like art world people … more high-profile.’

A spokesperson for the exclusive club argued the rumors are probably coming from a bitter applicant who got rejected from the club

‘They’re really trying to clean it up, because right now, it’s getting a bit trashy.’
A spokesperson for the exclusive club argued the rumors are probably coming from a bitter applicant who got rejected from the club.
‘We pride ourselves on the privacy of our community and do not comment on false accusations,’ a spokesperson said to Page Six.
The spokesperson added: ‘Sounds like someone who is upset they can’t get in … since the reality is that we have had more and more interest from the art and entertainment worlds.’
Casa Cipriani is described as a ‘true private members club in the modern sense,’ according to their website, ‘bringing together an eclectic community of those who enjoy life’s simple pleasures.’
An industry insider suggested a potential solution: ‘Hire an Amy Sacco. That’s who they need if they want to change the crowd,’ referencing a hospitality star behind one of New York’s formerly most notable nightlife destinations, Bungalow 8.’
The hotspot is also rumored to have lost one of its most famous members earlier this month, Taylor Swift.
Swift had reportedly bailed on her membership after other guests snapped pictures of her on a date with Matty Healy in May.
The club, however, denied that Swift turned down the membership but admitted ‘Casa Cipriani revoked memberships to a few members for infringing our club rules.’

The couple caused a stir when they strolled into the private $4,000-a-year New York City club in May, just days after the bad boy rocker was spotted at one of Taylor’s Eras Tour concerts.
Photos appeared online following the date, which prompted the club to send out a memo to its members reiterating its no-photography policy.
‘At least three members got kicked out for taking pictures of Taylor,’ a source said. ‘There is a no picture policy. Their membership was revoked.’

‘It has come to our attention that images have been captured at the club in recent days that have infringed upon the privacy of our members,’ the memo read.
‘It is important to note that any member who violates these policies will face immediate revocation of their membership.’
The source pointed out that ‘Taylor came knowing the policy and then had to leave,’ because of the eager fans.
They added it wasn’t even a member who took the picture, but it was their guest: ‘And their membership was still revoked.’

The couple’s romantic outing, where they were seen ‘kissing’ and holding hands, came just days after Healy was spotted clapping and gyrating while attending the most recent gig in Taylor’s Eras Tour.
