‘Two were taken to hospital for further medical checks. They were released last night,’ a Qantas spokesperson said.

‘No passengers were impacted by the smell. All are being re-accommodated on flights this morning.’

Passengers were left to spend the night in Brisbane and travel to Rockhampton on Monday morning.

The flight had supposed to leave Brisbane at 6.10pm on Sunday and arrive in the central Queensland town at 7.20pm.

The aircraft’s flight tracker shows it turned back just southwest of Hervey Bay.
