A toddler has died after being run over by a car while he was playing on a driveway north of Brisbane.

The one-year-old baby boy was in a critical condition when emergency services arrived at the home in Deception Bay at about 10.15 on Monday morning. 

The infant was rushed to hospital for treatment but he later died. 

It’s believed the infant suffered head injuries in the collision.

Deception Bay, in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, is 30km north of Brisbane. 

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Queensland Ambulance Service for comment.
