A 15-year-old girl has died after being pulled from the sea at a beach. 

Humberside Police said two teenagers were airlifted to hospital from Cleethorpes beach after 19:30 BST yesterday.

The wellbeing of the other teenager involved, a 15-year-old boy, remains unknown, according to the BBC.  

The pair were reported missing around lunchtime, igniting a search involving a Coastguard helicopter and RNLI lifeboat. 

The condition of the other teenager involved, a boy, also aged 15, is unknown.

Tributes and flowers have been attached to fences at the beach as people play their respects to the girl. 

A spokesperson for Cleethorpes Coastguard explained a lifeboat was launched at 16:00 BST and found the teenagers ‘some way’ to sea. 

A police spokesperson thanked the public for assisting with the search.
