Why Was Dane Rashford Arrested?
Dane Rashford, a soccer agent and brother of Marcus Rashford was arrested on October 20 in Miami Beach, with his bond set at $1,500.
As initially reported by The Telegraph, the charge was filed on October 24 as misdemeanor battery but was later specified as domestic violence.
Although Rashford is directly managed by his other brother, Dwaine Maynard, Dane is a director of DN May Sports Management, which counts Rashford as a client.
Although Dane, 31, is no longer detained, he would return to court on November 27 for a hearing.
Along with his brothers Dwaine and Dane and sisters Chantelle and Claire, Rashford grew up in the Manchester neighborhood of Wythenshawe.
He also has a half-sister named Tamara.
Minutes after Man United’s 4-3 Champions League defeat to Copenhagen, in which Rashford was sent off in the first half of the match, word of the arrest leaked out.
While awaiting his pre-trial hearing, Dane is not being detained; instead, he has been issued a “stay away order” that forbids him from contacting anyone.
A week following his arrest, Dane, the brother of Manchester United player Marcus Rashford, had his bond paid by sister Chantelle Maynard, according to court records from Florida.
Dane and Manchester United declined to comment to Telegraph Sport.
The case is still pending as of right now, and an arraignment hearing is scheduled for November 27.
Dane stated he “went through the victim’s phone and found text messages from another male,” per the police report.
In an Uber ride back to the hotel at 3.30am, Andrea also stated that he had struck her in the face twice “with a closed fist.”
Her companion claimed he pushed her.
According to the report, there was an additional altercation in their room when Andrea attempted to obtain the wifi password in order to turn off her phone.
Friends said that the couple, who have a daughter who is 14 months old, had been having relationship issues.
Staff at the £200-a-night four-star Kimpton Angler’s Hotel called the police when Andrea walked through reception with a bloodied nose after a night out.
Before his sister Chantelle posted a $1,500 bond, Dane, who owns a £1.2 million property in Wilmslow, Cheshire, was held in a shared holding cell for two nights in Miami Dade County jail.
He is expected in court on November 27 and has pleaded a not-guilty plea to battery.
