Andrew Cabot is the founder and chief executive officer of Privateer Rum, a booze maker based in Ipswich, Massachusetts. He is also the COO of the company. Cabot is six generations removed from the original Andrew Cabot (1750-1791) who inspired the launch of Privateer Rum.

Cabot’s biography on the company website says his “ancestor, the original Andrew Cabot (1750-1791), was a merchant, rum distiller and successful American privateer during the American Revolution. His fleet totaled more than twenty-five ships including the True American, for which our rum is named.”

Prior to Privateer Rum, Cabot was the president of Content Objects, Inc. for almost four years. He previously served as COO for Metrix Systems in France from 2001 – 2003, as well as VP of Marketing & Business Development for Radview Software from August 1998 – February 2001.

According to his LinkedIn account, Cabot was a product manager/marketing manager for Computer Associates Technologies from 1996 – 1997, as well as Cheyenne Software in 1996. Cheyenne Software was sold to Computer Associates in October 1996. He was also a product manager for Mediatrends, Inc. from May 1994 – Jun 1996. Mediatrends was sold to Cheyenne Software in July 1996.

Cabot graduated with M. Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2009 and a degree in Philosophy from UCLA in 1988. He also holds a B.A. in Philosophy/Liberal Studies from Northeastern University. He attended Pingree School in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.

They have shared a Rye, New Hampshire address with since at least 2023, according to property records obtained by The Post. After being listed as co-residents at one address in Rye, Andrew and Kristin Cabot bought the two-story, four-bedroom New Englander-style house for $2.2 million in February 2025.

Andrew Cabot’s wife Kristin Cabot has served as an advisory board member at Privateer Rum since September 2020, according to her now-deleted LinkedIn account. The couple are also referred to as ‘husband and wife’ in New Hampshire property records, buying a $2.2million home in February 2025. It is unclear when or where their apparent marriage took place.

Cabot has been married at least twice before, in 1993 and 2014, according to public documents.
