At the zen-themed gathering that concluded Season 2 of The Valley, Michelle Saniei made a striking observation: “If Jesse [Lally] and I can get along, then I believe everyone can.”
Fast forward to the first part of the reunion, which aired on July 29, and the couple’s strained relationship surfaced once more. Jesse described their coparenting efforts as “pretty good when it comes to decisions for Isabella,” but then admitted, “I know that [Michelle] uses Isabella as a weapon. I use Isabella as a weapon.”
Although Michelle denied the allegation, Jesse pressed on: “Read comments online. You weaponize your daughter.”
The allegation caused Andy Cohen to step in with a protest. “Well, excuse me, it’s not up to the commenters,” Andy said of Jesse’s claim.

Jesse prompted Michelle to recount the events involving his mother as an illustration of “weaponization.” This conversation occurred before Michelle’s mother succumbed to cancer in November 2024. Michelle stated that Jesse had prevented her from taking Isabella to visit her mother before her passing. On the other hand, Jesse claimed that Michelle then refused to let him take Isabella to his family’s Christmas celebration.
“I said, ‘If you’re not going to allow Isabella to see my mom, who is going to die, she will not be flying to Boston for Christmas and spending a week in Boston,’” Michelle noted during the reunion.
“’Ever again,’ is how you ended it,” Jesse clarified.
“And what happened? It worked,” Michelle said, defending her word choice. “And that’s how I have to talk to you. I have to treat you that way.”
Are Michelle Saniei and Jesse Lally divorced?
Andy asked for an update on the status of Jesse and Michelle’s divorce during Part 1 of the reunion, which was filmed on May 2.
“So we have a custody agreement. We’ve been trying to work on a settlement,” Michelle answered. “I have a lawyer. He does not. It’s been very expensive for me the last six months. He represents himself, so he thinks he knows the law.”
Jesse shared another update with The Daily Dish towards the end of May, adding, “We’re so close to finalizing the settlement.”
The couple said if they can’t agree on a settlement, they’ll have to go to court.
“I’m really trying to avoid that because that’s just so much more money and time, so I’m just doing my best to like, get it done,” Michelle told The Daily Dish at the end of May. “My goal is to get divorced this year, because I truly believe, like, once we’re divorced, we can be in a much better place.”
