Her career path closely follows that of her parents; her mother, Pippa, once worked as an ICU nurse, while her father, Greg, is a physician. Annabel has also embraced her mother’s passion for food, nurturing fond memories of weekends spent at farmers’ markets, engaging with growers, and cooking for her family.
After years in the ICU, the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted Annabel to reassess her priorities. She found solace in cooking, which offered a welcome escape from the demanding and intense environment of frontline healthcare.
During her childhood, Annabel delighted in foraging from her family’s vibrant vegetable garden, embracing a farm-to-table philosophy. Her culinary style, which she describes as rustic, is characterized by generosity, a focus on high-quality produce, and bold flavors, often incorporating restaurant techniques. She relishes crafting menus centered around seasonal ingredients to enjoy with loved ones. Originally from Canberra, Annabel has called Bondi home for the past 12 years, living with her younger siblings. She finds joy in water activities, frequently swimming or surfing, and her heart truly belongs in the kitchen.
