Ashley Edwards Biography – Ashley Edwards Wiki
Ashley Edwards is a gardener, horticulturist and a qualified horticultural therapist. He is the head gardener at Crocus, on-screen gardener on BBC One’s DIY SOS, presenter on BBC Gardeners’ World and a contributor for the BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine. He has been working with gardens for over 14 years.
Ashley grew up in a council flat without a garden in Wandsworth. He was fortunate to have a kind neighbour who would invite him to play in her garden. At the age of 5, Ashley was sowing his first calendula seeds there. On occasion, his family would take him to Kew Gardens.
Ashley started working at a local garden centre at the age of 16. He trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where he received his Diploma in Horticulture in 2014. He then worked at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, before moving to Sicily as an Intern Garden Manager.
Ashley also worked as Gardener in Charge at Strawberry Hill House & Garden in Twickenham, England. He was previously the head gardener at the Tom Stuart-Smith-designed Horatio’s Garden for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in north London. He also worked on The Serge Hill Project for Gardening, Creativity and Health in Hertfordshire.
Ashley made his debut TV appearance on BBC Gardeners’ World in September 2023. In 2024, he became the new Garden Club Member on Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club. He is a regular on BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time and a member of the London Garden Network.

Ashley Edwards is a gardener on DIY SOS. He made his debut on the BBC1 show on 3rd October 2025. He became one of the newest members of the DIY SOS team alongside woodworker and specialist furniture maker Radha Sivyer.
