The Bachelor Season 29’s Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa have officially called off their engagement nearly eight months after the proposal and just three months after the season finale aired.

Grant and Juliana formed a deep connection throughout Season 29 of The Bachelor, which appeared to strengthen with each passing week. Although Grant faced uncertainty when choosing between Juliana and runner-up Litia Garr, he ultimately proposed to Juliana on October 31, 2024. For a while, the couple appeared to be thriving post-show. However, they have now announced their split.

Grant Announces the Breakup on Instagram

In a heartfelt Instagram story, Grant shared a photo from their engagement shoot, writing:

“This is one of the hardest things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship. We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”

He continued:

“What we had was meaningful. The connection we built on the show was real, and so was the effort we made to continue once the cameras stopped rolling. There’s no negativity here. No resentment. Just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward. I’ll always be grateful for what we shared and for the growth that came with it.”

Grant concluded with appreciation for their supporters:

“Thank you to everyone who supported us and believed in our journey. This chapter is closing, but we’re both walking away with love and respect in our hearts.”

Juliana Reflects on Their Journey

Juliana also addressed the breakup via her Instagram story, posting a photo from the night they first met on The Bachelor premiere. She wrote:

“It’s a gift to find someone who sees the world in a way that resonates with you, while also encouraging you to grow. I’ve been grateful to share that experience with Grant.”

She added:

“Marriage is a commitment, and it’s one we both still believe in deeply. After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve come to the decision that this chapter of our lives is meant to continue on separate paths.”

Juliana further shared:

“We shared something meaningful, navigating a unique journey side by side, learning, growing, and showing up for each other the best we knew how. And while this isn’t the ending we once imagined, it’s one filled with mutual respect, care, and hope for what’s ahead.”

She closed with a request:

“We’re still cheering each other on, just from different places now. I’m beyond thankful for all the love and support you all have given us. Please be kind.”

What This Breakup Means for The Bachelor Franchise

With Grant and Juliana’s relationship ending, The Bachelor franchise now has just three successful couples from its 29 seasons. Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar recently tied the knot on May 23, 2025. Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici continue to thrive in their decade-long marriage with three children. Meanwhile, Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson remain engaged.

This latest breakup highlights a recurring pattern within the show—relationships formed in the intense and condensed environment of The Bachelor often struggle to transition into real life. While the romantic highs of the show may be compelling, the reality of building a lasting relationship requires more time and deeper understanding, something many couples have found difficult to achieve once filming ends.

Our Take on Grant and Juliana’s Split

While it’s always unfortunate to witness a breakup, it appears that Grant and Juliana made a mature and respectful decision. Their statements reflect mutual care and self-awareness rather than drama or hostility. Ending the relationship before it became toxic or resentful shows emotional growth on both sides.

That said, the signs were there. Grant’s indecision between Juliana and Litia during the season’s finale suggested he might not have been ready to commit. It’s entirely possible that external pressures from the show influenced his proposal decision more than certainty did.

Regardless, both Grant and Juliana handled their separation with grace and honesty. We wish them both success and happiness in whatever comes next.
