Dear Families at PVHS, Jayne Moritz, a junior at PV, passed away last night, and it is with great sadness that we communicate this with you, The principal of Pleasant Valley High School wrote in a letter to the school’s PTA.

He also mentioned that “we know that your child’s responses to the passing of a classmate will vary. Any response, from retreat to tears to anger, is normal during grieving.”

Please honestly address your child’s feelings and reactions to Jayne’s passing with them this evening.

Students will have access to special counseling services, which will be provided throughout the week and longer if necessary.
