Carol Kirkwood is a Scottish weather presenter, who is currently working at the BBC Breakfast and Met office. Previously, Carol worked at BBC Radio and BBC secretarial reserve in London. Born and raised in Morar, Inverness-shire, Scotland.

Kirkwood attended Lochaber High School in Fort William, Kirkwood. Later, she joined Napier College and Technology in Edinburgh where she receives a Bachelor’s degree in commerce. Soon after graduating, she joined the BBC secretarial reserve in London. She later moved to BBC Radio Scotland and subsequently to BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4. Afterward, she left BBC and started working as an associate director in recruitment and a training consultant for a management company in a consultancy firm in Cheshire.

In 1992, she together with Sacha Baron Cohen spent time on a now-defunct cable TV channel, Windsor TV, latterly called Wire TV. In the following year, Carol return back to BBC as a freelance presenter in Elstree Studios training development, where she anchored a program dubbed Talking Issues for HTV West. After three years of working at BBC, Kirkwood was subsequently promoted to work in the United Kingdom operation of The Weather Channel until it got shut down.

Moreover, Carol was trained at Met Office as a broadcast meteorologist. She joined BBC as a weathercaster and ever since then she has been featured in all BBC weather shows on both television and radio including BBC News at Six and BBC World News. Currently, Kirkwood is working as the main weather presenter on BBC Breakfast. She is also a regular contributor and reporter for The One Show.

In 2011, Kirkwood co-presented the BBC One series The Great British Weather. She also presented the weather on BBC Radio 2’s The Chris Evans Breakfast Show. In 2015, she participated in the 13th series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, finishing in 10th place. Apart from that, Carol also appeared as a guest on CBBC’s show Hacker Time and on BBC One panel show Would I Lie to You? Recently, Kirkwood had a cameo appearance on Hollyoaks. Additionally, she is an actress, known for Hollyoaks (1995), Breakfast (2000), and Wimbledon (1937).
