Ciaran Brennan holds the esteemed position of Head Chef at Osip, a renowned farm-to-table dining establishment located in Bruton, Somerset. The restaurant is unique in that it does not adhere to a fixed menu, instead curating a daily selection of dishes based on fresh deliveries from the farm and nearby suppliers.
Originally from Leicester and raised in Devon, Ciaran embarked on his culinary journey in 2016 at Portland, a London restaurant owned by Merlin Labron-Johnson. His passion for cooking over an open flame was kindled during his stint at Ester in Australia in 2018. Returning to the UK in 2019, he joined Osip as a sous chef and was later elevated to the role of head chef in 2021, where he has been instrumental in defining the restaurant’s distinctive character.
Under Ciaran’s leadership, Osip quickly garnered a Michelin Star in January 2021, just eight months after opening. The restaurant also earned a Michelin Green Star, highlighting its dedication to sustainability. Osip has received critical acclaim, securing accolades such as Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year 2025 and being featured on the Condé Nast Traveller Hot List as one of the globe’s most thrilling new dining experiences.
In 2023, Ciaran was featured in CODE Hospitality’s 30 Under 30, which celebrated him as one of the UK hospitality industry’s most promising young talents.
